Well, admittedly, it happens that we're a bit worried about low fuel levels and the lack of fuel stations offering RON98 nearby. Those kind of stats when making a quick stop.

Was it a great car? Absolutely Was it a car that was mounds better than my 135i witha few suspension mods? No it wasn't I think one of them realized that as he sold his for an F80 M3. I think if it was all about feel then we should all be driving Lotuses, Miatas and Honda S2k's. The 1M was great but extremely great was its rarity and price... let me also remind you when the 1M came; at the tail end of the E92 M3 cycle and was the only turbo M car offered at the time.

Awesome!
We finally found it! This is why the CS weighs as much as the Comp...there is a kid in the trunk!

Same here; I was offered to order a CS by a BMW dealer and declined. I think pricing will be maybe a little different in the US and potential US buyer are a bit more sensitive for the limited edition aspect (or the fear of missing out). If you like/want the car and have the funds then buy/order it. It's probably going to be awesome that CS, but don't go crazy over the car only because it's limited edition. That is what some US BMW dealers are counting on.

Just talked to my SA, and they've still not heard anything concrete in regard to allocations OR pricing.
My "slot" is based upon the assumption that they will get 2 or 3 allocations...which would be consistent with this dealer's historical allocations for limited cars. We shall see...I still haven't decided if I will get the CS or not. I would be looking @ 90K out the door...which is an awful lot. I'm sure the car will be awesome. When I got my 981, I was so blown away by it that I didn't have this kind of sticker shock. Not being facetious, but I am having a hard time putting a finger on why the price (if true at 83.6K) bothers me enough to not get the car...but I am bothered by it. It just feels like that's too much.

It's funny. I have a 1M I bought new and a M2 Perf Ed. I'm also planning on a M2 CS. I was over on 1M forum and they are talking junk about M2's in general and M2 CS specifically. I come here and it's the other way around.
What's the term for when people are so convinced they made the last good decision that anyone doing something else is/are stupid? This BMW group of forums are filled with this. BTW, also have a M4 and those guys think 1M AND M2 are stupid....

I drove the 1m the first week it was released when my neighbor brought it home and was utterly wowed. I recently drove one after the purchase of my M2C, and was also wowed, by how mediocre it felt next to the M2C. They do feel very different. But they just can’t be compared. If it wasn’t for the 1m, the M2c would not exist. Which is to me the reason for its greatness. |

I really don't understand the criticism of the 1M. It was a great car, the right size and a FUN car. A bit of a hooligan, both in looks and performance. The fact that it came ONLY with a manual transmission makes it a favorite for me. Plus it had the fabulous N54, and HYDRAULIC steering. What I'd give for BMW to bring back an old school hydraulic rack.
Do I LOVE LOVE LOVE my M2? Yup. Do I think it's wonderful and fantastic? Yup. Would I like to have 1M? Hell yea! Fortunately. as BMW owners, we have CHOICES. 1M, M2, X3MC, M4CS, M5Competition, 760i, e30, e36, e46, e60, e92. Be thankful. Be very thankful. That's a good thing! |

For anyone who doesn't understand the love for 1M, go drive one.
If someone think their 'modified' 135i is better than 1M, let it be. Or if you think m235 has faster lap times than 1M, buy a m235 then. SF90 is a whopping 10 seconds faster on Fiorano than F40. I know which one I want. And I wanna say thank you to anyone who doesn't like 1M, because I have one less competitor. I already have one now. But I wanna buy one more. One for daily, one for weekends. That's how much I like it. I'm not saying all other car are shit except 1M, instead, I like them all. I love M2C especially. But I only have certain amount of money, I cannot have them all. And for the money I have, I want max excitement and happiness. My name was on M2CS list since Sept of 2016. More than 3 full years of waiting now. It's fair to say I was really looking forward to it. But now, difference between M2C and M2CS does not justify the price increase imho. Especially it is not any lighter. With $30 - $40 thousand dollars more expensive than 1M, I might gladly take a 1M. When I purchase my second 1M, I'll post on 1addicts to share my excitement. I also wrote a long comparison between 1m and m2C. If anyone is interested. here's a link. https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1655704 |

As a 1M owner that tracks his car and also hangs out with BMW CCA members taking long drives in the country , I have met several people that have owned/own all three .. and generally their comments are .. 1M- " purist. 6MT hydraulic rack - * absolute keeper* " M2- " faster , great daily " M2C- "even faster , most capable of the trio on track. S55 shines in this car " 1M Tex ilovebmws are a few ... I feel lucky to own a 1M. Particularly after owning an E30 M3. Having driven one on street and track, The M2 is a fantastic follow up. The M2C is faster and seemingly more agile with more power in the chassis. I would like to add an M2 . Not replace the 1M. A used M2 and a new M2C are the best values. I agree .. The M2 CS.. is just too .. extra ...$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ |
