Yes, It was interesting to watch as I was collecting the data. The US keeping the manual transmission alive! It was also interesting to watch the CCB take rate. With most of the customer ordered cars being produced in the beginning the take rate was about 35%. As production continued that number fell to 23%.

I still think the CCBs are going to be a harder sell on the used market. Its a $22k brake job. Thats a lot of coin. There might be a super low mileage example that gets big money in years to come that has the CCBs.

Thank you so much for posting this GimmeanM!!!! Fantastic data - I did not expect this level of detail. Amazing.
My build is Misano Blue, ZMT, 2NH, Black wheels... pretty high count @ 39 units all things considered! Also I am very surprised the take-rate for gold vs black wheels to be pretty even! Would have thought gold would win by far... |

Yeah, i'd expect around 10K M2 Comp units to be sold in the U.S. That's orders of magnitude more than the 500+ CS units that made it stateside. Us comp owners will simply have to wait until BMW releases numbers (likely later in the year.)
Cool to see this breakdown. Pretty amazing that there is currently a car on sale in the U.S. with a 70 percent take rate on the M/T! Makes sense for the style of car, but its still interesting. |

I don't know what websites people use to decode Vins.
All of my go to websites are down or I get blocked after 1 search. Even the sketchy websites are down. BUT!!!! Now i can use this spreadsheet to just look at options without having to reach out to sales. Thank you GimmeanM |

I don't think there is a way to get that data at this point. Maybe add the US military sales to the overall total, but it would mess with all the statistics. This thread is about to hit the front page.

This really demonstrates how quickly the options dilute down......I took the most common color, most common brakes, most common wheel color, and the most common tire. I took DCT instead of 6MT which was the only exception. I ended up with a rare build, 10 out of 568.

So true that there really aren't that many no matter which way you slice it. I guess you could say mine is the most 'poster child' spec with MB on Gold with CCB and MT and it's still only 1 of 34.
