First Scratch!

Of course on the first day that I drive my car to work (I have a Honda Accord DD), they mow the grass and a wild scratch appears above the Xpel film applied on the rear fenders (higher than factory film). So not only do I have grass and pollen all over my car, I also have a nice scratch. I'm trying to get over being so obsessive about it, so I just thought that I'd rant here, haha. I just have to remember that if I don't drive it, I won't enjoy it as often!! The parking situation at work is awful too, people parking in the grass because of limited parking spots. I literally seeked out the proper spot (end spot, had a trusted co-worker that parked next to me) and didn't even think about them mowing today! /Rant

Just frustrated to see the first scratch! Life happens.....

That's a bummer, especially since you were being careful and had some level or protection. Sorry that happened.

I hear ya man. I got car a few weeks back and it's been in the garage exclusively until next weekend when I get XPEL. Exclusively except for that 1 day I drive it to work and pick up a healthy stone chip on the front curtain. Oh well, it's difficult not to be obsessed.

Btw, Western or Eastern PA?

Sort of Central PA. York/Harrisburg.

Cool. Let me know if you're ever out in PGH. Two LBB M2s are better than one!

Haha, doubtful. Not sure what it was actually from, I noticed it after I saw the grass all over the car and I looked closely and saw a light scratch on the clear coat (I was parked right on the edge of the parking spot and grass is next to the spot). Not a huge deal, just sucks when it happens.

Ugh. Sorry to hear about this. Scratches are inevitable, and in time you'll notice it less and less. But the first one always hurts!

Took my car to the track last weekend. On the way there a truck right in front of me drops a board right into my car. Unbelievably the board hits the headlight washer cover and does a little expel damage. That's it. I was going 60+ mph as was the truck that dropped the board. Unfortunately the new cover does require painting that I hope will match perfectly. It's on order.

Hate to say that you had "good" luck but damn, that's amazing that that was the outcome!

I pulled over and was mentally prepared to look at the car and tell myself I was going to have to sell it. I knew my ocd of knowing the car had been damaged would naw at me. Like I said, I hope the paint matches once replaced.

Wow! Sorry to see this.

My buddy once had a shovel from a work truck go through his windshield on the highway.

Found the pic he sent me from like 7 years ago:

No dashcams (this was circa 2009) and the work truck probably didn't even know the shovel bounced out (Kept Driving)....so my buddy was SOL. This was on I-695 in Maryland.

PS. Buddy is a lawyer...Ironic, I know. He was actually just about to start law school when this happened.

Did you try to self heal the Xpel film with hot water?

The scratch was not on the film, but just above it on the paint.
