Halim can I get your input on the v5.8 93Oct in winter. Wondering if the tune needs an update because my HFPF is crashing now. Possibly due to more dense winter air needing more fuel? I've reached out in a couple different methods and haven't had a response.

Hi,

My car currently has a similar crash but not so severe (e.g. mine drops to ~2300, when the target is 2450, but only in 2nd or 3rd gear pulls). Which gear was this log taken in?

TBH I don't think there is anything wrong with the tune, just a need for a better fuel pump - either the B58 or Supra ones would be do. B58 pumps can be had for ~230 used, but would need minor modification to fit. The other option without going to expensive aftermarket pumps would be the Supra B48 pump, but that needs more work to fit and will be more expensive - there is an active thread on this at the moment.

I really don't get how ppl are telling me it's not a problem with the tune. (you're not the only one) The tune is advertised as not needing a fuel pump upgrade and it's potentially catastrophic to flash this without one. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this issue, just the first one who noticed it. And I wouldn't have noticed it if it wasn't SeanWRT asking for winter logs. I would've never took a log if it wasn't for him asking for one.

I've reached out to Halim in 4 different ways over the last week or so. No response.

This is 4th gear btw. For future reference, the log shows what gear you're in.

Reading threads like these are what ultimately made me go with a custom tune from ECUTEK. A tuner looks at every log and makes adjustments to optimize your particular mods with the fuel you have available in your area. There's never an issue with communication either. I hope you get everything straightened out and safely dialed in to your liking.

I think the issue is that some HPFP can take it and some can't, so BM3 may be reluctant to alter the tune. Just comparing our logs, mine drops 7% pressure in low gears only, but yours is dropping 12% in 4th. I do agree that BM3 OTS maps are pushing the boundaries of a lot of factors, HPFP being one of them.

I think I will do the B48 HPFP mod - it is only a slight improvement (~6% more fuel), but it's enough to pretty much cover the fuel deficit I currently have. I do not want to spend 2K on an XDI pump.

Would be interesting to see if you still had the fuel problem running stage 1.

I'm happy to test more if Halim or anyone from Bootmod3 would join in. Otherwise my testing is a waste of time.

Looking at my stage 1 91 logs from before, there are some drops in pressure below target that i hadn't noticed before (but they aren't that bad - pic attached for red and blue lines)

If you are going to try a different map, I would suggest the Stage 2 91 - PTF have recommended before to drop back to the 91 maps if a car is having issues with the 93 version. If you don't have the license for this already, they may allocate it to you when they respond to your call (they did similar for me when I ran into knock issues on stage 1 93 before).

I tried stage 2 91 for the first time and I noticed the cold start is muffled. Before the flash I custimzed the settings prior knowing stage 2 has cold start off by default, so I turned it on (OEM). I do noticed it's muffled and also when driving too somewhat.

I've been mixing 100 octance to achieve 93oct gas recently so I've been moving up slowly on the map ladder. I was on the stage 2 ACN 91 with 93 gas prior and my cold start was fine and car sounded great.

I also noticed the stage 2 ACN 91 it doesn't show u need downpipe+FMIC. But the regular stage 2 91 states that u need. I do have both and I'm not sure if its the stage 2 91 that is making my cold start muffled. Perhaps this is why by default they code it off?
