HA!
To be fair, the part would never actually come back looking like that.
That's just an example of one method that quite a few tuners/shops are
using to unlock/flash these ECU's. The end result could very well be the
same as any other process, but the margin for error is increased, and the
overall attention to detail/consistency/repeatability is obviously different.

We developed our own vehicle/application specific ECU harnesses for
unlocking and flashing to simplify the process for our dealers and ensure
consistent results. This is the primary reason that we like our customers
using dealers from within our own network, and hopefully explains why
there is a modest price difference between our product and others.

Our apology. PM replied.

Closest to Philly is Rogue Engineering in New Jersey.
Rogue did mine on the M4, very easy to work with. Worth the drive.

I hate how everyone always uses BMW advertised horsepower on purpose since it's always underrated.

If you want our trust, do a baseline yourself on the same dyno that you test your tune on. Advertised power vs WHP/TQ is pointless.

We show BMW's claimed horsepower and torque figures for reference purposes only.

Those numbers are not relative in any way to our advertised gains for Stage ONE or
Stage TWO power levels. Our WHP/WTQ (wheel figures) are based on our average
gains over multiple runs on our dynos. Those are averages between our own
measured stock runs (baseline), and our own measures performance runs (tuned).

For more info on the dynos we use, how we accurately measure for power before and
after, and where our advertised numbers come from, feel free to check out our
"TWO Dynos" thread over in the F30 Forum.

Yes, you sure can.

Just keep in mind that if you want to add it back later, it's a separate performance
file which will cost $100.

Are your OTS tunes for m2 any different than those of other N55s?

Yes, they most definitely are.

We start with each new application as if it's a completely new car.
The OEM calibration strategies by the manufacturer are very different
between the 3/4-series cars, as well for the M235i, and also the once
again on the ///M2.

We learn a lot by exploring the differences in OEM tuning between the
various models and then starting our own development, custom tuning,
and final road testing from that point on.

The end results may not be wildly different, as we all know that the
hardware is similar
, but the calibration strategies do vary by taking
advantage of what BMW already does very well, and making changes
only where we feel there is room to improve.

Another important issue missing in the info here is peak horsepower gain and peak torque gain vs max gain. Dinan achieved some good max gains on parts of the power band where M2 had dips, but the gain at the peak was lower. What is the hex peak torque and HP at each stage?

This may be a weird question but is it possible to add the GTS start up burble to a m235i? Just curious as I am looking into flashing my Ecu

Our BMW M235i application already has the GTS style Start-Up Roar
and Throttle Overrun (aka: burble) calibrated into our software levels.

Our advertised numbers are "Peak Gains".
(Peak = highest point for HP / TQ between stock and tuned runs)
Advertised: +20-30HP / +50-60TQ (at the wheels)

I've added "MAX Gains" below as an additional reference point.
(MAX = largest delta between stock/tuned runs at a specified rpm)

Here's a visual reference for Stage ONE power levels:

Mustang AWD-500-SE (four-wheel) Dyno
Peak Gains: 19HP / 53TQ (at the wheels)
MAX Gains: 43HP @ 4,650rpm / 56TQ @ 3,175rpm

DynoJet 224 (two-wheel) Dyno
Peak Gains: 19HP / 53TQ (at the wheels)
MAX Gains: 41HP @ 3,900rpm / 53TQ @ 3,050rpm

I think that one of the most interesting takeaways from the dyno plots
above is that despite the noticeable difference in Peak Numbers between
the Mustang (heart-breaker) Dyno and DynoJet (fan favorite) Dyno;
the Peak/MAX Gains remain nearly identical.

This is why we have been diligent about asking people to focus less on
the peak numbers from a tuned run, and focus on more the delta/change
between stock and tuned runs.

We would all prefer to tell people that our car makes 350HP / 415TQ
because it sounds more impressive than 290HP / 350TQ, but from the
examples able you can see that both sets of numbers represent the
exact same car, with the same software, same fuel, same weather
conditions, on the exact same day.

Added a proper Stage ONE and Stage TWO dyno plot for reference
back in Post #1. (click link to jump)

We'll have more dyno plots soon for intercooled Stage TWO, and
Stage TWO+ for high-octane. (100 Octane or higher - unleaded fuel)

I like it m2 being treated differently and changes being made where there is room to improve.

Now if you don't mind I coming back with more questions on your OTS stage two tune:

1) Boost in the mid range and up top?

2) Is DCT shifting strategy changed? If not, can you do that?
Shifting at 6500rpm would be the best for accelaration with a tune that cranks up boost early on like yours at least from the dyno posted. Even on stock tune, m2 is proven to be quicker with earlier shifts by our mutiple real world tests. Unfortunitely DCT likes upshifting above 7000rpm at WOT.

3) Does m2 stock burble remain intact or is it changed to GTS style?

4) What's the AFR above 5500rpm? Concern is the stress on stock weak HPFP.

5) Does the catalyst heating circle on startup remain intact or is it removed like BM3?

6) I am assuming your tune is customizeable? What is the additional cost for a custom update on top of OTS?

These questions and also

1) Nobody uses Uncorrected on bmw rather n55, can you please provide SAE or STD correction factor.

2) Where is the baseline of same day with DP, since you posted UNCORRECTED CF?

3) Can we know if this car is DCT or 6mt, and what gear was the dyno?

Thanks

Please PM me some info

I am in NYC, looking for prices on stage 1 and 2. Also looking to find if stage 2 will require a different service schedule due to increased stress on engine/oil. I run on 93 octane.

As I have a slightly different setup of a fabspeed sport cat downpipe, which is more restrictive than a decatted downpipe, and perhaps easier access to air with a pure inlet, is there any customization possible or even desirable with your tune?

Also would be nice to see the AFR graph on Dynojet graphs as well.

Would love to see some videos of the gts burble on a m2 after the flash and pricing as well. Does the one time fee come with both stage 1 and 2 for us to swap ourselves when we get the added support mods?
