If one fits nice expensive carbon fibre exhaust tips, what's to stop some dork stealing them ? Are they screwed on or welded on ?

Anyone knows if the setting on mpe change back to default every time you switch off the car? Ie. If I set the mpe to track mode and turn off the car. When I restart the car will it changes back to normal mode or stays at track mode?

Kind of back to back. I really wished they had the same sequence and duration of revs and lift off. Also they should have done it in the same mode ( sport or sport+ ) and not different ones. It should effect the throttle response and a lift off and the sound.

That said, it seems like the stock exhaust is deeper sounding than the MPE in street mode.

What about the cabine noise with the M Performance exhaust compared to the OEM?
Is it louder inside? At cruise speed on e.g. motorways : annoying, unpleasant, irritating ???
Don't ask this for myself, but the wife is relatively sensitive to this. So before deciding, better think twice...

Ditto, wifey already not happy with stock in sport mode. But then I do come in with afterburners wailing at 3-4K !

So when car is in comfort mode, the MPE is still quiter than when the car is in sport mode?

So in the exhaust sport mode is there any difference between comfort/ sport+? Or is the only difference sport and track? Basically what I'm asking is does the valve ever open up when in sport mode on the exhaust and sport+?

Awesome! So comfort/ sport being the quietest and sport+/ track being the loudest I'm assuming?

So I see it this way - Driver Experience Setting + MPE Setting = sound you get. Unfortunately one MPE setting is Sport which is an overloaded term since the Driver Experience Setting can also be in its own "Sport". So for MPE I will call it MPE Sport ( street mode ).

Below is YMMV but it kind of gives you an idea.
  1. Comfort & MPE Sport ( street mode ) = characterful and quietest but still loud with burbles
  2. Sport & MPE Sport ( street mode ) = characterful and loud with burbles and pops
  3. Sport+ & MPE Sport ( street mode ) = characterful and loudest - with burbles/pops/bangs
  4. Comfort & MPE Track ( track mode ) = more raw and quietest but still loud with burbles
  5. Sport & MPE Track ( track mode ) = more raw and loud with burbles and pops
  6. Sport+ & MPE Track ( track mode ) = more raw and loudest - with burbles/pops/bangs

* for the burbles or pops or bangs - this is not scientific proof. This is just from memory and my current feeling as I write this. YMMV depending on the way you drive too! For example where you shift, how hard you let off etc...

I drive mainly in sport and toggle the MPE sport/track depending on how I feel. If others are in the car, I may go down to comfort mode and stay on MPE sport to reduce drone or volume.

Hope that helps!
