Status: In Transit

QQ for you guys - my status is now "In Transit" towards the East Coast (Connecticut).

Anyone have any idea how long the car will take from being on the ship to being at the dealer?

Reason being, I need to figure out arrangements (I'm in Texas right now) to go back up north to collect the car.

Thanks!

Every delivery is dependent on a unique set of circumstances and situations. There are too many factors for anyone to provide anything better than a rough guess estimate. Your best bet is to communucate your concerns with your Advisor.

If it just went into that status, it will get to the US around 7/20 if it's on the ship I expect (Tombarra). You can call your dealer or BMW Genius and they can confirm which ship and what the schedule is. Once it gets to the US east coast it can take anywhere from 4 days to 2 weeks to get to the dealer.

Garage List
Although some of the numbers are outdated, there is still a lot of good information about tracking your BMW here, including average times from Germany to the east and west coast:

https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1181156

Once you find our the ship's name from your SA or BMW NA customer service (Genius no longer handles this), you can track the ship on www.marinetraffic.com.

The ship will no doubt arrive when it is scheduled, but the wild card is how long it stays at port. This can be affected by volume of cars, if any damage needs to repaired or recalls (e.g., the recent airbag recall). Two to five days is standard and then the transport to your dealer.

My car showed the “in transit” status around the same time and my car is aboard the Marguerite Ace that departed Bremerhaven 7/3 and should arrive in New Jersey 7/14.

Rock chips on bumper and lower front spoiler
Tell them firmly you do not want anyone driving your car

It's a 12 gallon tank (cheap full up) car is small easy to wash and a sticker is only a 15 min headache for $50-$60 worth in prep I rather have one less ass in my seat, I'm 36 now I don't need to see my car shiny at the dealer with a bow

the BMW website VIN tracking is totally unreliable. Mine went from 2 steps after the port, back to the port and next step "in transit" again when the car was already here.

Just a heads up guys - my car was delivered to my dealer on Friday.

How long does it typically stay there until they give me a call for scheduling delivery?
