I just noticed that while building an M2 you can't choose to add stainless steel pedals and black kidney grilles anymore. I thought maybe they were going to be standard going forward, but they're not on the list. I'm a little confused about the grille. One of the standard features is:
• Kidney grille with black twin slats and M2 designation

I'm assuming this is the normal grille and not the black one. But can someone confirm?

It's not showing up for me either. You can change those out yourself for less $$$ anyway.

Hmmm. I just put in for the M Performance Pkg, which includes the black grill. I hope it won't delay my delivery.

You'll order them on the build sheet from the dealer when placing the order for your car and the parts will be port installed. The other option is to have the dealer install the parts, you get your parts back but pay more for the install.

It's your choice, but I prefer the parts be port installed... this way since it's part of the build and no warranty issues if they need to be replaced. Others will say that it's not a good idea because you don't get the original parts back and just install them yourself. It's about preference and $. You have options.

I ordered both options last April for mine.
Your dealer may still be able to add them to your order for installation by the VPC, or worst case have them dealer installed.

I can confirm the option was there and is now gone. BTW you can use the grilles for the M235/40i which are half the price of the M2 grilles. Just swap out the black surround on the M235/40i grille with the M2 grille. IIRC BMW was charging $400 for the grilles. Swapping them yourself will cost about $150.

bmwusa.com is always changing the options that can be selected via the build online. you can definitely add anything at the dealer during the ordering process. It costs more than doing it yourself but many people go that route especially when leasing so it is residualized. Randomly, you can't have the CF spoiler port installed unless you get the entire MP Package.

I had to buy the black side grills separately and I will have them installed post-delivery.

I believe your dealer can do it anytime before the car hits the port.

Funny, the Z06 option on a Corvette is substantially different!

They are not supposed to be the same double grilles. I will need to check though
