So, as a M4 owner I have to say..... I'm kinda jealous. The M2 is great. Looks amazing in person. People gave the interior a lot of crap, but it's not bad at all. Only difference is the matte carbon and crappier leather. The one I saw had alcantara with contrast stitching on the doors too. Not sure if that's standard? Also had alcantara and the M Performance logo above the glove box area. Looked great. This car definitely has my attention. Now..... to drive one

yup...alcantara and blue stitching is standard and can't be customized. But the M performance logo above the glove box is an add on.

Going to be really hard to get a test drive. Even if a dealer has one FS they limit the drive - if you get one at all.

I'm actually a fan of the dry carbon look compared to having that section in alcantara. I'm planning to add the matte cf wheel trim along with the dct console

I feel like the M2 is one of those cars that really can't be fully appreciated until you see it in person. When I was waiting for mine I must've poured over thousands of photos, but when I saw it in person I was completely blown away.

That is probably because a lot of us was M3/M4 owners and jumping from that to the M2 is a slight downgrade and we are just whining because we want it all

Could not agree with this more. I really liked it in photos but once I saw it in person I was on another level.

Yeah, it's a downgrade, but not much. And for me, the size is the main reason I'm jealous. It's the perfect size. I thought the interior was going to be cheap and crappy from what I was hearing. It's really not bad at all. Quite liked it actually.

Not sure what downgrade you guys are talking about. The M4 is a slightly nicer place to be but having driven the M2,3 and 4 at the 2 day M school I can tell you the M2 is an upgrade in terms of driving dynamics. I asked every instructor what their favorite M car was and everyone said the M2. My own impressions were the same. Having said that the M4 on carbon brakes on the high speed sections of the south palm course at Thermal was tons of fun.

The downgrade I'm referring to is in regards to the interior only. The driving dynamics is the reasoning most of is making the switch.

I had the same reaction. I'm still in line (#3), but I had the dealership let me know when they received another customer's car. I had to pick my jaw up off the parking lot. There is not a single picture online that truly captures those fender flares. The M2 is so mean and so sexy.

The fender flares in combination with the rims were what immediately floored me.

I can relate to what you are saying. There aren't many good angles and lighting for pictures to well reflect the body line, which but is easily striking in the metal.

Even my wife, who's been fighting against my sticking to BMW for years, commented when we took the delivery: em...not a bad looking car.

BTW: I had been happy until she got in it: Unacceptable! How is it different from our 328? Where did the as twice much money go?

I ordered it through my dealer to shorten the wait until June 2017 a bit. So far it works, price was about 40 Euro...
