I think the best part is if you changed your mind on that M2, a full refund is pretty much guaranteed at this point.

I have to agree with this, a lot.

I drove the M2 and the M4 at the Salzburg ring in weather too wet for a duck. I was shocked at how much grip and how light the M2 felt in comparison to the M4, even though it isn't much lighter.

I found too, that on the highways at say 80 mph, it felt a bit heavy, but once the needle was above 100, the car would change direction effortlessly. The lightness doesn't mean it feels like it lacks grip or poise, because it has both.

The M2 compared to a BRZ. That's a funny comparison, but still a relatively fair one. The thing with the BMW, welded seams, bracing, creature comforts, more safety equipment and the list goes on. It's the small things that add up in weight. Knowing Subaru and Toyota, the interior probably feels like a Rubbermaid bin, even though the M2's interior isn't the best, it's still lightyears ahead I'm sure. And the same will go for the rest of the build quality. I'm sure the engine and mechanical bits will last forever in the BRZ/86, but I bet the body won't.

The list is huge why the M2 is as heavy as it is. But it's also why the car is as good as it is. We're getting early 2000's super car performance, for the price of an entry level luxury coupe.

You can pickup a very low mileage example for M2 money.
I sold my Boxster just 2 weeks ago. And I couldn't offload the M2 at a very reasonable price. I lost less money on the Porsche ownership than the M2 ownership, interesting enough
Oh you would not loose money here in Canada.

BRZ does have back seats albeit small. The trunk is pretty usable as well. Overall a smaller car than the M2 yes, but has very similar proportion
The rear seat is useless in the BRZ. No one but a child can fit there. If you're 5'10" or over, the seat will go back and touch the rear seat.

As for trunk, BRZ is 6.9 cu.ft, the M2 is 13.8 cu.ft. I would hardly call anything short of 10 cu.ft useful.

I agree, the back seat of the BRZ is a waste of time, shouldn't even be classed as a 4 seater, at least the M2 can fit an average size adult in there comfortably.

Someone needs to call you a waaambulance.

Comparing an M2 to a BRZ. Come on I'm faster on my bicycle...

M2 feels nimble and it shows in many laptimes worldwide vs other lighter cars(with better or same power weight ratio) and cars with way more power.

Cheers

And because of the FR weight distribution it's more playable than almost any 'exotic' , 991 included. The balance is incredible. Look at this. Fat piggy go! Fun has many definitions, this is one of them:

Make your own CSL. Strip it to the bones and sell the parts online. Then, go on a diet yourself (admitting you weight more than a jockey).

You wil end up with the lighter M2 you want and with some money on the pocket.

Later, if you want to sell it, just buy a CSL badge, stick the thing on the trunk lid (note that the car will then weight 80 grams more, which might devalue it) and ask $3,000 more.

There you have it! More for less

Take a lesson from this... An old one: don't ever buy a car without testing it unless you are 100% sure it is what you really want (and no one never is I guess, unless it is an upgrade over something you had)

Believe me it is not true. 911's are everywhere and eventually you get tired of the thing (have 3 neighbours with these streched sexy beetles, but maybe they're all waiting for a M2 like me ). Moreover, personally, I feel better driving a M2; not speaking about "special" 911s obviously.

BMW just offered me a brand new M3, similarly equiped for just 6k more (euros) and I passed!

In what concerns the boxster the OP refers.... gosh, they are as common as Minis over here. Does not have any "feel special" factor. i usually say that there are so many that if you want to drive one for a weekend, you just ask a friend for it. Amd if you give your M2 in exchange, you will have a very happy one willing to trade it whenever you want to.

Horses weight something; as do the things needed to drive and thame them (like brake systems, for instance). Maybe the difference comes from there...

Give me one example of a four person car with solid roof which can be a daily and can go totally loonatic chasing/passing much faster/powerful/lighter cars in an instant and in a balanced way for that price and looking that sexy.

There is only one M2. And that's the M2.

Cheers

I think they just dont do them lighter becasue they dont want. Thats all. They can charge us some extra for lighter cars now, and many people is ready to pay these extras. So why giving them for free...and to all people??

More profit doing the way they do.

The car is heavy, agree, and nimble compared to other cars of this weight.

On the other side, I wthink an extremelly light version of the M2...will make the car lose some its great balance.

Just out of curiosity, the main reason you are selling the M2 is the seat and you OCD or the way it drives. Back in April you confessed it was the OCD thing. Despite I never noticed the crooked seat in the 4 days I test drove the car, I could well understand the urge to sell if it annoys you.

Some people do nothing but complain. Yet they never sell the damn car. Just sell it and leave us who love the car alone.

M2 is an amazing drift car. If I had fuck tons of money and just don't give a shit I will build a drift car out it The way you could place the car where you want it while sideways is commendable. Yes. That's tons of fun to do. However, if the car is only 3000lbs with an uprated turbo 4 cylinder from a 228i. Hmm. Power isn't everything. we all can agree a 3500lbs car with 360hp is not as fun as a 3000lbs car with 300hp
