Anyone running Pilot Sport 4S' on their M2?

Currently have Supersports on my M2C, really like the look and have heard good reviews on the Pilot Sport 4S. I have easy access to getting Supersports but still wanna give the 4S a try, wondering if anyone is running them and notices a significant difference in performance and overall feel/quality in comparison to the SS (prices are nearly identical for the two tires).

When my SuperSports were due for replacement at almost 30K miles, had a set of 4S installed (10mm wider front and rear). Better in every way, but the immediate difference was just because new tires are better than old tires.

For the money, buy the newer tire. There is no reason to use the old gen.

As above, 4S are better in every way. I went from continental stock > PSS > P4S. The jump from conti to PSS was night and day, made a huge difference in handling, especially on track (didn't have access to dedicated track tyres) - no more horrific understeer! Going from PSS to P4S is less noticeable but it is better, especially in the wet.

I can tell you this - I've had the Michelin SS, and the 4s's are definitely an upgrade.

But, I can also tell you that when my 4s's wore out, I replaced them with the General Tire RS and these.tires.are.awesome.

And, about half the price of the Michelin's. $700 for a set of 4 from the TireRack which included a $70 rebate.

Compare that with Michelins.

I have logged a ton of miles on Pilot SS with various cars and recently switched to 4S on the M2.

As others have reported, the 4S performs better in every way and is more quiet. Only possible drawback would be harder to break traction and get the rear loose, if that's your thing.

At that price sounds like they are worth a shot
My worry is fall off in performance and durability.
In my experience Michelins have ALWAYS outlasted every other brand by far.

I currently run them on my M2C and had them on my M3 in the past. They are really a great overall tire. I'd suggest looking at onlinetires.com vs tire rack, from a pricing standpoint they are much better.

Running them on my M2C as a replacement for the PSS after they needed replacement. I like them. Definitely an improvement in both dry and wet grip from the PSS.

Where were you GT RS guys when I bought PS4S's a few months ago

Sn: conti to PS4 here as well. They almost grip TOO well if you can believe it. Hard to get the tail out, as mentioned.

You will not be disappointed.

Sn2: I doubt theres a need to go +1 on size w/ how sticky they are unless you like the aesthetic. I would argue that the sidewall may have been firmer with 245 and 255 setup. I feel the slightest bit more give/flex with these vs my more stretched contis when cornering hard

Probably researching them on Tire Rack. 😁

Went from a set of the stock continentals to PS4S and the grip definitely went up a ton

Any particular version of PS4S? Or just the generic spec?

Just generic spec I think, from what I hear tho PS4S is the way to go either way tho. Paul Allen is probably riding on the Run-Flats though, can't let a flat tire keep him from making his reservation at Dorsia - know how hard those are to come by.

Some people have commented they've preffered MPSS mostly for reasons of breaking traction at lower speeds and that at the limit predictability is nicer.

Thanks! Surprisingly, you're the first person in my history on this forum to pick up on that

Never would’ve thought that there would be good reviews on General tires.
Definitely will look into it when the time comes.
How’s the road noise?
Tread pattern looks like it might be noisier than the Michelins.
