I did the opposite with my e92 M3. I went from 220M wheels to 359M wheels (lighter to heavier). I immediately noticed the heavier wheels. I just loved the 359M wheels

You can definitively feel the difference.

But 8 - $10,000 on just wheels is hard pill to swallow, for some of us mere peasants..
More motivation for me to get on a diet and lose some weight! 👏

If you ever have to drive gravel roads or encounter small pebbles you will inevitably get small rocks scratch the wheel getting stuck between the inner barrell and the break caliper. Go 20" or change to a smaller diameter break kit. I went Rays Volk G025 in 19" with same dimensions/fitment as the BBS FI-R, and the Rays seem to have much better clearance between rim and brake caliper.
I might be remembering wrong, but I think Mr had the rock issue. I looked at the caliper clearance and the gap seems acceptable and quite large. the roads here are nicer than most, and there are basically no lose rocks or gravel anywhere that I drive.

the rock would have to be nearly an inch to get caught there. but maybe I'm misunderstanding the issue.

God BBS FI-R look so good but I don't know if I could ever justify to the cost. Also my GF would be even more terrified of trying to park the car than she is now.

The acceleration difference is very noticeable. First pull I did after installing them the car felt like it had a bump of 30-40whp

Weight comparison just wheels if you were to transfer stock tires to the BBS:

BBS FI-R
F 19x9.5 +22
R 19x10.5 +35
16.5/17.5 lbs
68 lbs total

788M
19 x 9 ET29 24.7 lbs
19 x 10 ET40 26.24 lb. rear
101.88lbs total

33.8lbs total, I don't remember off the top of my head whats the ratio of unsprung weight but this is why the difference is noticeable right off the bat on the butt dyno..
