TPMS doesn't display individual tire pressures or temp?
Hey guys,
Looking for some help. I swapped out my wheel+tires for a winter set pulled from a 2017 BMW M3. Currently drive a 2018 LCI M2. I performed the tire pressure reset and it went smoothly, no errors. However, as seen in the attached picture, the individual tire pressures nor the tire temps are being displayed. I reset it 2 more times to see if anything changed, and I also turned the car off for a while as a last resort. No luck. It was my understanding that the TPMS' were the exact same. Any idea what might be going on or what I stupidly missed? I looked through the forums and was only able to find the possibility that the sensors are FTM rather than TPMS? These were stock wheel+tires from the US though so I'm assuming that's not the case. Could it be an older, incompatible TPMS? Figured it would throw a warning sign if that were the case. Any points would be greatly appreciated! |

I'd say I drove some 4-5 miles after the reset? I haven't had any issues previously with TPMS and usually the reading pops up almost immediately after the reset is done.

When you reset TMPS, you have to drive for a few miles without stopping or shutting off the car. There will be a % indicator in the top of idrive showing you the percent completion of the reset. Once it hits 100%, it will take a few more seconds for it to calculate and display the results.
I believe you have the correct TMPS sensors installed because the car won't allow you out of comfort mode without them. |

Thanks. Yeah I did complete the TPMS reset to 100% 3 times just to make sure. After each reset the 100% cleared and then began displaying that window with no numbers. I previously also owned an M235i for 4 years which has the same reset process. Never experienced an issue like that so it's definitely puzzling.
My best guess would've been that the TPMS is somehow incompatible but I figured I'd get some warning/error if that were the case. |

Not sure if your issue but there was a cross over point where the TPMS sensors changed and if u used the wrong ones it would not register. It doesn't throw an error if the wrong one. Just doesn't work. I think circa 2014.
Well that's what I found when searching for a used set of sensors

Someone mentioned that perhaps the sensor batteries died? Not sure if 1 sensor dying would cause all 4 to stop measuring, or if they all died. Just an option I suppose

I have a BMW X4 2017 (F26) that only has FTM and would like to convert to TPMS...Does anyone know if it's possible to convert from FTM to TPMS.
