Some people on this thread want to load their M2s up with comfort-hog features. Others want "That STANCE!" and get into a metro-tizzy deciding between 4.4mm vs. 4.7mm spacers. Yet others want BMW to offer their favorite shade of flaming lavender as a factory color option. Meanwhile, back in the real world, BMW is spending millions developing the M2's chassis.

More like 4.3 (maybe 4.2) to 60 mph (it doesn't take half a second to go an extra 2mph).

That's what I'm going by, i.e, drop .5 seconds from 0-100 kmh to get close to 0-60 time. Guessing? Yes. |

I could never get to 20mph even in cruising on the highway. Max I get is 19.99999999999. Not quite 20.

And yo don't see this thinking in just the automotive world. Look at gyms. Gyms have gotten to the point where they have all the comforts of home, and are now meeting places instead of places to work out. This is to get the customers that normally wouldn't work out, to join. Just look at Planet Fitness, they even have "Pizza Night"!!! |

If I don't get any real options to choose from, and some special M-car niceties, a couple-year-old 2nd gen Cayman S is starting to look more and more like my next car. The lack of choices won't bother me much (I can surely find a white, black or grey one with black leather, ha). The ones on CarMax are cheaper than my M2 probably will be, add in the famous CarMax extended warranty (where you can get everything covered and repaired at Porsche dealers) and they probably cost about the same. And if that's the case, well . . . damn, I really thought I'd be driving BMWs in the future, but perhaps not. I can totally see why people are excited for the M2, and it will be a rad car, no doubt. But coming from a MG M235i, my eyes are starting to wander. Seem like some short-sighted thinking on BMW's part here.

It's gotta be a somewhat long trip. Turn off the air conditioning, get in the slow lane, drop your speed to 60 and ignore your wife/girlfriend saying you drive like a little old man. 23 is doable with a DCT. |

You guys put too much faith in this Scott guy. I remember him referencing seat covers with something like "ooh what's this I wonder why the seats are covered" what for?? Blue stitching...what a joke
I hope that they do come with unique seats other than stitching and alcantara in which case I will happily apologise. |

(Though I think I read "Power heated seats is an option" in the OP's features list.)

Things can certainly change...there's certainly a precedent for using the M3(4) wheel of the time, since that's what they did with the 1M, albeit from the ZHP package. I had originally wondered if that meant that the F8X ZHP wheel would "debut" on the M2 - just reverse order this time...

The more I read about the M2, the more disappointed I am with it in terms of limited options.
I drove the M235i when I came out: too domesticated of a drive compared to my 135i with M-Sport line, PPK, etc. Meh. Was hoping the M2 would have not only better performance but broader options. Guess not for 2016. Maybe in 2017. For now, will stick with my 2010 135i that I love and my K1300S motorcycle.

Question for you 1M experts.
Being limited production up front, did dealers order "Demo" cars? I thought they were all customer ordered cars based on availability. |
