How to Check Big Brake Kit Wheel Clearance
Wheel clearance is a crucial factor when considering an aftermarket brake kit, and many of the questions we're asked on a daily basis revolve around wheel fitment. Physically checking clearance on your chosen wheel via our downloadable PDF fitment templates is the best way to ensure compatibility, and Essex provides these for every brake kit we offer. We just uploaded this new video on YouTube to supplement the written instructions on our site. Thank you for your continued support, and yes, I really did ding the AP Racing calipers on my own vette with my wheel weights...doh!

Thanks for posting this Jeff and perfect timing. I'm in the process of making sure I can get my favorite pads that fit (Hawk DTC60) and that the kit works with my Apex EC7 ET35 wheels with the 12 mm spacer needed to clear my M Sport Coilovers. Planning to check that later this weekend with your template.
I assume the process is the same with a spacer except to ensure it sits tightly against the wheel. Cheers, Noel

No worries and glad you found this helpful! Yes on the spacer...just make sure the spacer is flush against the wheel and you should be good to go. |
