"Closer to market launch" could be next week That's closer to market launch than today

I think "market launch" means you get to drive it out the door on that date. If that's the case and, if April 16 is that date, then, assuming the normal 8 weeks US delivery time, production for April 16 delivery would require ordering the car sometime in late February. I suppose they could wait until then to reveal prices.
For the life of me, I don't see what they stand to gain by continuing to hide the price of this car. But, obviously, they fear something.

I was told in Canada it's illegal to sell over MSRP. But of course the dealer ( or the owner of the delearship ) could buy the M2 themselves and then resell it at a higher price. This could happen, but BMW Group Canada would easily catch on and stop or reduce supplies to that dealer.

But in the US it's different and legal to sell above MSRP. So our situation doesn't have much bearing for them.

I got a call from BMW of Dallas today and was stoked that they were getting ready to take orders, then the sales guy told me the same bullshit that lead me to this thread... they wanted $10k OVER msrp

I legitimately thought he was joking at first. Not the case.

A few minutes later I called up Classic BMW (a much further drive for me now that i've moved since getting the 2013 135 I'm driving right now) and the same sales guy I worked with laughed and told me he'll get me one at msrp

I might have to wait a few more months but 10k is 10k..
