I have the XDI-35 and it makes a loud noise during acceleration in the lower RPM's. I've been working with F80 Paul and he has not been able tune it out... very frustrating. I'm going to try these new OTS multimap tunes to see if that helps.

Just a heads up for yall running dorch pumps that are chirping like a canary in heat lol, dorch just submitted an updated software patch to bm3 so keep an eye out for it.

I have been experiencing this chirping/metallic ringing sound coming from my dorch stage 1 pump at low load, partial throttle situations. And i had one incident where the pump was actually making this loud tapping sound just at idle. Scared the crap out of me so i messaged dorch and they said they have a software update ready to fix the issue.

I just thought id let yall stage 2+ people know!

Hmm, would a more appropriate “fix” be a lifetime warranty upgrade to a Stage 2 pump?

Exactly the same as me, the loud chirping at idle isn’t the best. Emailed them today too and got the same response so looking forward to getting it sorted finally.

I was considering going for a stage 2 hpfp as they seem to have refined the settings for that pump. But I will hold out and see how this next update goes.

Best news ever. I've been dealing with this noise on my xdi pump. Considering that the xdi 35 and stage 1 pump flow pretty similarly, I'm hoping this fixes my rail pressure chirp. I don't want to get a new hpfp until the dorch stage 3 comes out!

There is still a noise after configured stage 1 pump with the latest OTS map. It's very frustrating…

Well, if Dorch can’t get it sorted, sounds like all the Stg 1 guys need to convince Dorch to do a “group warranty exchange” for Stg 2 pumps!

I’ll give them a little longer to see if they can get it sorted.

I don't think the update was pushed yet.

No I don’t think it has yet either, not that they announce it to let people know.

Mine also still makes a noise with the last update and Dorch stage 1 setting. Hopefully this one coming solves our issues.

this one is a another update. i had that update too and it reduced the chirping somewhat.

interestingly enough, i was reading through some older threads in the 235 forums or 335 forums, i dont' rememeber. Anyways, i read people have suggested to run chevron techron and the noise should go away. So i did, and voila, no more chirping. i dunno how the techron helped but yeah i havent heard a single chirp so far and its been a couple weeks

Yes 1 bottle per whole tank of fuel. Then oil change after going through the entire tank if fuel + atleast 1 tank of just fresh fuel.

i am not for or against techron, but know that techron comes in different sizes and concentration. i wouldn't just blindly put a whole bottle in, especially if you use the high concentration, big bottle.

Actually techron is made for a 1 shot use scenario aka it's designed to be easy to use by allowing the user to just dump the entire bottle into the fuel tank, as long as you have atleast 45 L of gasoline which the m2 does have. The only one that isn't is the large like 3L or 4L jugs that are labeled value size.

Also the big 591mL bottle is the exact same stuff bmw uses, and again is one shot full bottle into the tank. You can read it on the back of the bottles as well.

If they were meant for specific amounts they would have two of the following features:

1) a transparent level meter to see how much is left in the bottle.

2) a double pour system so you don't pour too much. This is like the stabil fuel system stabilizer bottles where you can squeeze certain amounts into the too chamber and pour without accidentally pouring too much.

3) https://cglapps.chevron.com/sdspds/P...&docFormat=PDF
This is the pdf for mix ratios, 30 mL per 3.78 L of fuel. So that works out to 412.698 mL per tank of fuel (which is 52 L on the m2). The small 355 mL bottle of tehcron would not be sufficent even with the entire thing poured in which is why the 591 mL larger bottle is sold by bmw, and why the label says up to 20 gallons of gasoline can be treated saying it is acceptable for fuel quantities below that. It may be a bit more than the 30 mL per 3.78 L of gasoline ratio but it is acceptable to pour the entire 591 mL bottle into 1 tank of gasoline which is also stated on the bmw technical directives.

https://www.tsbsearch.com/BMW/SI-B13-02-06

4) One more thing to note, generally with smaller bottles they're more concentrated than the larger bottles if they're mean to clean the same amount of fuel not the other way around. But with techron it is the same concentration with big or small bottles since they use the same 30 mL per 3.78 L blend ratio. You just have 2 sizes incase you have a larger fuel tank.

Here's my thread with the bmw fuel system cleaner found in Canadian dealer ships: https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1743422

It likely doesn't say techron on it because it is relabeled for Canada (has to have English and French on it) unlike in the USA where it has the black label with techron on it.

However if you guys are in the states bmw has released a new version of fuel system cleaner labeled "bmw twin power turbo fuel additive". https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...mw-83195a07750

It is in an even smaller bottle but treats the same amount of fuel as the original stuff as it is more concentrated. Apparently bmw did this to make the bottles smaller and easier to carry multiple treatments, and the original techron stuff is discontinued in the USA. So this should be the new go to fuel system cleaner (if you like bmw oem stuff), unless you guys just want to buy the chevron techron directly from chevron instead of the relabeled bmw stuff that was available before, in that case that is fine too.

Personally I have heard and seen alot of good results about the chevron stuff from BITOG and would love to be able to buy that, but it is not available in Canada.

Anyone running the Dorch unit on an E-series? Do you notice excess noise in the cabin from the pressure pulses in the low pressure side?

I'm still fighting my Spool FX-150 and it's horrendous pressure pulses. My fuel filter housing cracked 1000 miles after installing the HPFP, can't help but think it's related.

There shouldn't be any issue on the low pressure side as a result of the HPFP. What kind of LPFP are you running?

Just an update to those who were having issue with their Dorch stage 1 hpfp making noise.

BM3 have updated the Dorch stage 1 tab after some chasing from Dorch themselves which now has my HPFP completely silent.

Nice.

So, what's the update process? Simply reflash our current map with no Config settings changes, or is there a new dropdown selection? Is this active in the iPhone app and web browser?

Thanks!
