M2 looks and thumbs up!
Do others also get a lot of looks and thumbs up when driving the M2?
It happens to me so often it's not even funny! Maybe because I live in Maryland and there aren't many M2's *.. also the Long Beach blue paint doesn't help lol.

I’m in the Chicago area and I get thumbs up every time I take it out. If I stop for gas somebody will want to talk to me about it. Biggest problem is that it’s only dudes!!!

Last week a guy a stop light next to me asked me to roll down my window. Wasn't sure why and was thinking I had a tail light out or something.
He simply said, "THAT is a sweet ass looking car". I said thank you and apologized that I hadn't washed it.

I get more reactions on clean swirl free black paint than I do the car itself. Gtechniq keeps it glossed like some candy painted donk from Houston so it gets love accordingly.
I’m a friendly wanker in a smaller town so I’m normally the one throwing waves to others in enthusiasts cars only to be ignored. The worlds sort of gone cold. You try and waive at someone and they think you’re a psychopath in 2022. |

I do get the occasional thumbs up and "nice car" compliments in parking lots. Also, it attracts a lot of attention from BMW enthusiasts, old and young alike.

My M2CS seems to attract young men, sometimes with a double take, one asking me if he could take photos of it when I was filling up with petrol. My 22 year old WRX attracts younger men and a subset of older men that probably grew up with it. My Aston seems to be universal, it's a weird experience, in stopped multi lane traffic people invariably stop in the next lane in the rear 3/4.
The strangest experience ever though was my previous HS M2C when it was just released. A young guy crossing the road with his girlfriend stopped in front of me and looked at it with what could only be described as lust. I thought he was going to start humping the car. I think I noticed drool. Even my daughter who was about 11 at the time noticed it and commented. Same thing happened a little later with a BRZ driver as I exited a car park as he entered. Quite amusing. I always give a smile and wave. It's just great that car enthusiasts still exist. I was the same when I was a young man. |

No thumbs up for me yet but I do see people circling it and checking it out when I'm walking back to my car from the market or restaurant

I have had a lot of people comment on the color of my car (LBB), but only a few people comment on the car itself. I get the most comments from kids picking my son up from school. One kid was like "oh wow, that's an M2!" I was amazed.
I did get pulled over shortly after buying the car (no license plates, no temp tag), and the first thing out of the cop's mouth was "is this a Comp?" I was like, nope. He let me off with a warning. I love how under the radar this car is actually, my other car gets way too much attention. |

I've had my '18 OG M2 for a month and a half. It mostly flies under the radar (so far). It's gotten far fewer comments than my '10 5-door WRX would have in the same time span. I think that car, with its hood scoop and hatchback body shape, made it stand out more.
However, I did get a fun comment from a high school age neighbor a few weeks ago. He was walking along the sidewalk and I drove past him as I drove up to my driveway and into the garage. As I stepped out of the car, I heard a "Hey man! I saw this awesome blue car go by me and I was like, 'Wow what a car!' and then I realized it was my neighbor! What a car, man!" That was pretty gratifying! |

I got a lot of looks when I first got it. Still get the occasional thumbs up.
I'm actually still in awe of the M2. I drove my Jeep Wrangler to Florida last year, and saw an HK silver M2 comp making a rapid turn through an intersection. It had a CF rear spoiler. When I got back home I ordered one for my OG M2. Earlier, when driving up to the mountains, an LBB M2 came up behind me (same color as mine). First time I saw the car outside of mine, and realized how cool and aggressive it looks driving up the road. Driver pulled up next to me, and his passenger smiled, giving me the thumbs up, that was cool. The F87 M2 is just a nice looking car. BMW really knocked it out of the park with the styling. Not sure they will be able to top it with the G87. |

I remember taking a LBB OG M2 home for the night (very fortunately I might add) when I worked for BMW a few years back. As I was coming off the highway, there was a car full of young guys and gals that pulled up beside me. They loved the car and were singing its praises, even trying to nag me on to do some illegal stuff with it (to which I used restraint ). Think I got 2 or three more thumbs up during my drive home that night.
Don't nearly get as much attention in my SO M2C here in Michigan surprisingly; might be blessing in disguise, especially when passing the cops

LBB is definitely going to get attention (positive as far as my limited experience goes). It was also the signature color of the OG M2 when launched back in 2015 - definitely not a choice for introverts
SO should also get quite noticed it's a gorgeous sight (a lot of presence), I nearly pulled the trigger on one (the other guy that went to see it was faster in signing the deal) Black, white, gray, silver are more low-profile in getting the non-car buffs attention - for people into cars, they will straight out recognize a M2 even in those colors |
