If I were going for only one size difference bn front & rear (275/285), I’d just run square.

I’ll fit 265/305 on my next outing. The under/oversteer balance is what will dictate if I stay with it or not. Lots of opinions here, but only one way to find out.

You should only see 3k on the track if you’re in a 20mph corner.
Oh crap I mixed up the re11 and re71r's lol. Ok yup I was wrong. Too many tires starting with r and ending with numbers (re11, re71r, r88r, r1r etc).

Personally I'll probably keep the rs4 as my tire of choice because I still street drive the m2, and tires aren't cheap lol.

The 71R is damn loud on the street, almost anything else is more comfortable as it starts to wear. So, there’s that!

Lol it's not my daily so not a big deal, plus I'm getting some bushings for the transmission which will increase nvh.

Did I mention I had an sti a few years ago with a turbo back exhaust from nameless (excellent company), unequal length catless headers, solid motor mounts, solid transmission and diff mounts, and that thing was so loud it would leave my ears ringing after full throttle pulls. It also had crazy drone where you couldn't even have a conversation on a highway cruise at any rpm, so I think I'm well conditioned for the noise lol.

Hate to bring a thread back from the dead but I have info to add. 2018 M2 LCI stock wheels and stock suspension. MPS4S 265/35/19 in the front rubs. Discount Tire’s computer system said it was verified to fit. They mounted the front two and did a lock to lock turn, with a camera in the wheel well they saw the fender liner move. They ordered a set of 255/35/19 fronts. Hopefully that’ll do the trick. I’ll report back in a week or so.

Edit: Going with 285/35/19s in the rear. Replacing the stock Contis due to the horrible ride quality. I hope this helps with the seams in the road. These Contis are like runflats the way you feel EVERYTHING! If I ran over a toothpick I’d probably feel it.

Interested in hearing the updates on the 255 fronts.

Anyone running M Performance Coilovers with stock wheels and wider tires?

255/35 fronts do not rub at all. I even run mine with 5mm spacers and no rubbing. I'm on KW v3 coilovers lowered 3/4" more than stock.

I currently have 265/35 winter sottozero serie ii tires on the front (no spacers and OEM wheels), which are wider and taller than the MPS4S in the same size, and they don't rub at all either. So odd that he is having rubbing issues on stock suspension.

275/35 Conti 5P with 5mm spacers for summer. Until they wear out, then going 285/35

For winter 285/35 SottoZero Serie II

Rear is lowered 1/2" more than stock.

Encouraging, though in my case I've read somewhere the Competition fender liner is slightly different and has less room.

I plan to go 19x9 +25 with 255/35 MPS4s in front and was slightly wondering if I'd have problems.

Yeah, I don't know what to tell ya. I told the discount tire gents there can't be any rubbing. They threw on the two fronts and they had three guys with their phone cameras looking at it while another turned lock to lock. Said it touches on one of the locks, not the other.

So, waiting on the 255s. :/

Yea, I read the same thing. And they do have different part numbers, so I assume the difference is true. Sucks because the extra front end weight in the M2C due to the different engine, would benefit even more from wider tires. Wider tires would aid more in understeer.

So, I think there is a way for you to find out if that setup will work. It seems the rubbing comes when turning the wheel full lock, tire hitting the fender liner. As seen in the pictures here. https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...0&postcount=45

So, with that in mind, you can turn your wheels full lock and take a measurement to see how much space you have to play with right now. The setup you mentioned would be theoretically 9mm closer to the fender liner there. 5mm for the additional tire width, and 4mm from the change in backspacing. This is assuming your on OEM fitment 245/35 tires mounted on OEM 19x9 et29 wheels.

You think it’s bad now, just wait until you wear it down some. It only gets louder!

I do keep meaning to measure myself but I keep forgetting. A lot of info in these two threads. If it doesn't seem to fit I might stay 245 and get 8.5" fronts to kill the stretch. Hard to decide.

Could try the old heat gun trick to the plastic liner and mould/push with the back of a hammer or some other piece to gain some clearance if you really want the 265/35/19 front to work. I may go this route soon when I pull the trigger on new tires.

That size should be fine, re71r's are a bit blocky though but I don't think you'll have issues with rub.
