Full Exhaust Tip Cleaning?

A few questions:

1. Can you remove the carbon fibre shroud from the exhaust tip?
2. What's the best way to REALLY clean the inside of the tip? In the picture, the right most tip was cleaned with steel wool and it is better than the uncleaned tip but still really stained by carbon.

Steel wool + autosol or any metal polish. Repeat multiple times.

Yes, the Carbon fiber is removable. If its the M performance tip/system there is a screw on top. Polish + wax

I wax my carbon fiber tips each wash

I use plain old Eagle One wadding polish that’s been around for decades. You have to be careful with the titanium because it can get to the point where it’s stained permanently, so you have to keep up with it.

OMG, I would love for my exhaust to look like this. Yours looks brand new. Can I ask if the steel wool you used is the more abrasive finer wool? I tried it with the larger wound wool and it didn't seem to do anything. I will have to get that metal polish.

I got the car used and I am worried that the previous owner probably never cleaned the inside of the exhaust tips ever. This stuff looks very embedded/stained.

I would try a wheel cleaner with an iron remover in it. Don’t let it sit too long. You may have to get a toothbrush or something small to agitate inside the tip. It may take several rounds of cleaning but eventually it should come clean.

Really fine wool, thin as hair.
I Also use those polishing cones attached to an electric screwdriver

I use Labocosmetica cronos

Very very affective used with a small detailing brush to get inside exhaust tips.

Not got a before and after picture but highly recommend.

The car is in winter storage but we recently had a warmer day and I took everyone's recommendations and guidance. Used Mother's metal polish, some fine steel wool and a foam cone on a drill. More needs to be done but it worked and it's looking much better! Thank you all. I will do another round in the spring.

While it's in storage just ceramic coat them so you don't ever have to polish/steel wool them again.
