Carbahn Intercooler

has anyone tried this? It is from Steve Dinan's new shop.

https://carbahn.com/product/cbn55-20...428435m235-m2/

every other review I have seen related to Dinan or CSF which were expected to be OEM fitment, turned out not to be. but haven't heard anything about Carbahn's...

Looks like a ATM CSF clone, down to the tabs on the side that mount it to the car. Even if it was “better” it’s not worth $600 when you can have a Race intercooler that would arguable perform better for less.

Garage List
2018 BMW M2  [6.67]
Get the CSF (I'm about to put one up for sale in a bit lol). The fitment issues really aren't that bad. Get some different screws (if you don't want the phillips head ones) and just get some bigger washers and it'll fit just fine. Plus, it's pretty common to find on sale for $399 so why not. If you really wanna spend the money/go high power, get the Wagner Evo 3. Evo 3 is by far the best intercooler for N55 M2 but really isn't needed unless you're going for a high power build. The CSF I have on my car is more than enough for my PS2 setup

The Evo 3 is not better than a VRSF race or likely a MAD Race, is more expensive and requires more work to make it fit. The CSF is fine, and like you said a used one is going to be cheaper, likely perform as well as the Carbahn one, and Mount the exact same. There really isn’t a good reason to buy this.

AmuroRay The race intercooler will probably perform better, and it's cheaper.

I recommend the MAD race intercooler, It is the best value on the market, and you get a lifetime warranty plus solid customer support

Does the MAD race intercooler fit the M2 without having to trim or change the chassis brace?

All Race intercoolers will require changing or modifying the brace. 11" is too high, the CSF/ATM/Carbahn is 9 or 10" tall and fits just under it.

Do you think a run of the mill performance shop that specializes in these cars will be able to mod the brace to get the intercool to fit?

You could do it yourself. But you need a M235i V brace.

The braces are as pictured below.
