The M2 is a parts bin car like the 1M. But clearly there was much more thought put into the M2.

Auto Express is saying limited numbers, 500 for UK. So it might be hard to get like the 1M.
Bro who cares about all those excellent upgrades to the internals of the n55, they didnt freaking change the letter from an n to an s this is so stupid /said no one ever except that one guy earlier in this thread.

Why on Earth would the M DCT be LIGHTER than the 6-speed manual?! Do you realise how stupid that sounds?

The M DCT equipped cars are HEAVIER than the 6-speed manual equipped ones.

No Carbon fiber roof
No CF shaft

The discount percentage is a valid point

But still you get:

A Roof
A driveshaft
Real seats with M badges
Incognito side mirrors
An X4 engine
A better sounding exhaust note
A smaller, tighter package
A more exclusive car

No M-Mirrors, no M-Seats, no Carbon Fiber roof. We all know this means...BMW is going to introduce all these things and more in a future M2 (M2 CSL). Hopefully MY 2017. Now that's what I'll get my hands on and trade in my M235i for. Apple play will even be available at that point.

I'm still sold and I love it but...... how does the DCT weigh less than the 6MT?

Looks good. I think BMW got this right in the sweet spot by leaving things out not to infringe on the M3.

I definitely see M235 sales going down rapidly.

Anyway, the M2 still looks BAD ASS, I loved.
Again, with all due respect...you gotta do apples vs apples not apples vs oranges. If the discount for ED is going from 7% to 5% in December then it will be on ALL models including the M3. So the price difference between them will still be a lot more than $5,000.

M3 MSRP 63,200 (-D&H) with 5% ($3209) discount =$59,991
M2 MSRP 51,000 (not confirmed) with 5% ($2550) discount =$48450
Difference = $11,541

And really your arguing $750 rebate? lol

I see M235/M240'sales increasing when people can't get an M2 due to smaller production numbers and spec out an M240i into the 60s

I figured it was a typo, but can't somebody edit it? lol

On a lighter note, is anyone's bank account about to hate them as much as mine? I'm going to pre order some CF stuff for this car, and my Landy needs a lift kit.

Yeh I agree, we have no idea what kind of production numbers or allocations this car will have which will leave 235i/240i sales as is for the time being.
