Good on BMW. M2 is a magical car, I much prefer it over the M4.

Ditto!
I don't understand why the CS variants don't come with more aggressive seats. It's a CS model for a reason. It's suppose to be more performance-oriented, just like the e46 M3 CSL was. It came with proper bucket seats. Why can't these cars? I'm not going to say that it's a deal breaker, but it's big enough of a deal to have me re-consider things. You're paying significantly more for a car that offers so little vs the M2 Comp. The least they could do to distinguish it would be to install some proper bucket seats. I don't know about the rest of you, but that would actually draw a lot more of my attention. Not to mention shed some more weight. Yes, I know that I can install some aftermarket buckets, but OE is OE. Last edited by 19x; 07-02-2019 at 10:08 PM.. |

And on what planet is 400+ BHP, 8000 RPM, and NA “not very good”? I’m sure you have a smug smile as you lovingly wipe down your Prius.

I'd go with Alpine White, CCBs and your tranny of choice.
I can't wait for the 1M owners to tee off with M2CS owners over who has bragging rights. |

The bucket seat is a bit too hardcore for the CS moniker. Look at M3/4 CS and reasonably lower the expectation.
One good alternative would be the M performance seat that's found earlier on M2 performance version (North America only model), virtually a BMW rebranded Recaro CS, which offers a significant amount of weight savings, while retaining quality of life features - back-angle adjustability and quick fold/unfold function. Also, the more raw performance seat works better with M2 language than the competition seat does. That being said, GTS seat is more attractive no question about it. But it's just not realistic having it with the M2 CS.

The M2 CS looks interesting but adding power wasn't the issue here. Wish they instead focused on adding more feel to the car. Simplified suspension, hydraulic steering (never going to happen), manual only transmission, lighter weight. That's what the M2 needed, IMO. Don't think any of that is happening... I've always liked the M2 I've driven several now; but overall the car lacks feel. Wish they'd fix that instead of taking the easy solution and just adding more hp. I hope they make the M2 really kickass for the sake of people itching for this more connected small BMW M car but can't see this happening if it's 3600+lbs

But the steering feel is not there..as we all know. Also, it's more on the comfort side...I feel it to be too much insulated. Exhaust sound seems like coming from 2 blocks away. This is such a nice beautiful car, I wish it had more 'connecting' feeling. |

M2CS may feel way better without the M2C heavy wheels and brakes. Time will tell. |

My M2C has almost too much brakes for town driving. Grabby as hell and will throw anyone through the windshield not buckled up. Carbon Ceramic brakes on this little car puts it in a "track only" category for me. The M2C is hardcore enough for me. God I love the focus BMW is directing to the M2. The good old days of the ultimate driver focused M-Car is now.

Is that really why?
So how's any of this different from a GT3 or the GT4 with bucket seats? - How come those cars have no such issues? - I presume they have airbags in the bucket seats? And if so, why wouldn't BMW? IMO, this should be an option, just like CCB. I would gladly pay more for proper buckets. In fact, I would take bucket seats over ridiculous spoilers, front lips, diffusers, and exhausts. |
