Soon to be a new owner of M2CS
I have not posted at bimmerpost for a while.
I finally decided and put a deposit on a 1 owner M2CS with low miles. Black/Gold is not my first choice but as soon as I saw it. That M love feeling came back right away. Picking up tomorrow. I'll share more details as soon as I acquire the car. I also had a chance on a newly arrived 23 M2 in blue. But I could not take the 10k markup they are asking, so I did not even bother to see it since its an hour away. Burning my pockets more than it need be, I won't be able to forgive myself. At least with the M2CS my losses will be minimal, I hope. Just a quick question. I had prior M2 and M2 Comp. I remember CarPlay was included and became free. Is this the same case with M2CS? Sticker only says 1 yr CarPlay. Also does M2CS work with Bimmercode? Thanks. Can't wait to get back in an M.

Congrats, you are going to love the M2 CS. Black is obviously a pain to keep clean but I think black with gold wheels looks pretty sick. Just don't go for super dark tint which makes black cars look gross.

Thanks for the heads up on the tint. The dealer did a ceramic coat on it so I guess that's a plus. Can't wait for tomorrow, hopefully all will go well.

Black and gold is the god tier combo. Yes a pain to keep clean, but a labor of love. When it is clean, the paint looks so deep like you could just jump in and go for a swim
Mine is ceramic coated and PPF. I can get it clean pretty quick.

That combo is very nice imo. I'm AW/gold wheels with CCBs. For me, it was an easy choice as that car was local but if I had to choose between all the options, black/gold would be hard to pass on. Bimmercode works just fine. Can't comment on car play though since I have android

There isn’t a bad spec with the CS, but black/gold is one of my favorites. The cars are all loaded with really the only options being transmission, color, brakes and tires.
You don’t get comfort access or an armrest, but you do get CarPlay. I’m biased, but I think the CS is an easy choice over the G87 if the price is close. Congrats. |

My spec or the black? I like the aw it contrasts nicely with all the cf. Gives that stormtrooper look 😂. I'm itching to get the cf fenders. I hate looking at the fake vent compared to my old f82 m4.

I don’t like the new design of the M2. I don’t like the flat instrument/multimedia screen that looks like they just tack it on top and the fact that it’s a torque converter is just a no go for me. So the one at the dealer is a manual so I said maybe and I thought I had to do due diligence and at least see it. As they say it could look better in real life but they were not budging on that markup so I just did not bother to look.

There was a new M2 at a local dealership. After looking at it and sitting in it, I have to say it wasn’t as bad as I thought. Definitely a car that doesn’t photograph well.
I could see replacing my M2C with one some day. But, would I replace the CS with one - hell no! The G87 may be as quick, but it’s not anywhere near as special. |

maybe you've already done it elsewhere but would love to hear your comparison of the two given your privileged perspective. |

Hell I'm not really a fan of the screen in the CS just sitting on top there either. The screen in my old Focus was nicely recessed into the dash, it looked more thought out to me and it delt with glare a lot better than in the CS. |

I haven't, largely because I'm not much of an automotive journalist. The best explanation is that they really are two completely different cars, even though they have the M2 badge. My cars are not really comparable because the M2CS is DCT with Cup2s while the M2C is 6sp with PSS. I drive the M2CS as more of a weekend driver, especially out in the mountains and on road trips. The M2C spends more time as a daily, and we have taken it on car club drives where it lived up to its reputation. Personally, I think the adaptive suspension and the extra bit of power on the CS makes a world of difference in terms of performance because the ride is just more composed (my opinion) compared to the fixed, stock suspension in the M2C. While the M2C is a blast to drive, the M2CS is on a different level and is something really special.

I parked my much loved M2C which I traded on my M2CS. They are very different cars. I did a long drive in the C just before the CS along the same route. I did the same trick when I test drove the G82. You can only truly judge a car when you step out of one directly into the other. Needless to say you’ll only ever pry my M2CS keys out of of my cold dead hands. I’ll be holding onto the best ever M car for a very long time.

I never bought a BMW in my life, except the 1974 2002 tii that I recently restored, but I'm a car guy through and through. My marque of choice has always been Porsches, since 1971 when I purchased my first one. The love affair continues with them, but mostly with air cooled versions. I've owned 9 different 911's.
I'm the type of guy that goes to local cars and coffees with everything in the parking lot from hot rods to Lambos. I like, or at least respect them all for what they are or what they're trying to be. I've driven and owned lots of different cars, including muscle cars from the 60's to VW Beetles, and I rent a lot of cars when I travel. I can spot a car I'm interested in on the highway a half mile away...lol. Special or not, the M2CS is just a screaming monster of a car that is slightly dangerous and naughty. I love that part. It's holding its value well and is a blast to drive. It's difficult to drive fast around town but all these modern cars are. It's just fun and looks good to boot. Mine isn't going anywhere.

Well, this is embarrassing and I want to apologize ahead of time. I was scheduled to pick it up yesterday, money ready for a cashiers check but I happen to see a 911 997.2. This is really the car I was after at the beginning but could not find a good match and after looking at it yesterday I pulled the trigger on that instead. I thought this way I can experience being a 911 owner and really enjoy the car and have room to mod it and make it my own rather than babying the M2CS since it’s so rare. I wish I could afford both but that’s not going to happen. Anyway if you are looking for one at great condition. It sits in a dealership in Newport Beach, CA for a little less than 89k, PM me or you can just search it online. So I guess that’s that. Maybe in the future an M2CS will be in my radar again. Thanks for all the inputs.
