Currently considering adding a carbon fiber trunk that has the supports on it for the Schirmer wing and have no idea where to find this.

Im also curious if the Schirmer wing is the same hole pattern as the M2CS Racing wing holes? Ive attached a few photos from a video I found online but I cant get a hold of the owner to ask him the question.

Anyone with experience that can help me out?

EDIT: Carbon fiber trunk without the winglets on the sides like the M performance trunk. Factory M2 style.

Doubt you'll find an aftermarket carbon trunk that has support for wings.

Schirmer is different from the CSR. You'll want the M235iR trunk to support the Schirmer wing.

I'm bias towards the M Perf trunk with and w/o the wing. I thought I'd swap back to my stock trunk, but I dig the 2-tone look I've got with it and run the GT4 wing when I go to the track.

I'm in the exact same boat as you, and I just got my Schirmer wing delivered. I was planning on drilling a stock truck I came across and not the 235i racing trunk. Hopefully it will all work out as it looks like if I drill the holes for the mounts and weld underneath for extra support I should be ok.

Will report back soon.

I know there’s a company making them in carbon because this video shows it. Just gotta figure out who it is now.

The top is really thin, so you'll have to add quite a bit of steel to weld. I had a shop try this and it still wobbled, waste of a trunk, was pretty pissed after they said they could do it.

There was a brief moment where the team schirmer parts website listed a carbon trunk and you could option the preparations for wing mounting. It is no longer listed from the looks of it. So its possible the trunks didn't work out or they are planning on debuting them at a later date. You could enquire with them or try contacting the people in the youtube video.

I went the route of m235ir trunk. It was pretty painless stress wise but can cost a bit.

So the 235i racing trunk from IND is the same bolt layout as the Schirmer wing?

So you’re saying if I sourced another stock trunk that I was planning to drill and reinforce underneath, it wouldn’t be secure enough? Would greatly appreciate more insight before I go this route. Might just get the 235ir trunk and call it a day.

Thank you!

Yeah...this is what happened to me. It was a shoddy job and a waste of time and resources. I thought I was doing the right thing and wasn't trying to cut corners, but for the price of going through the mess of sourcing a stock trunk and getting it installed, I could have gotten the M235iR outright.

So I behoove you to just get the M235iR the first time. It was a mess. I went with a stock trunk, then M235iR trunk that got damaged in transpo, and then got the M Perf trunk. No regret with the M Perf trunk, but you can't go wrong with the M235iR trunk if you go that route.

Where did you get your GT4 wing from? Team Schirmer?

AP Motorsports GT4 rep wing which is around $3500 with gurney flap and then have to add uprights, OE, RKP or whichever you choose...

Was talking with them awhile back but it kinda went quiet. How's the build quality? I remember they do offer uprights as well. Did you opt for theirs or you went with something else?

In the photo, they're the RKP uprights which are equivalent to the OE ones, but then I didn't like how dinky the base was, so I went with Fall Line's versions, which I like waaaay more.

Thanks for the photos! Always find the OE base rather lacking too but reckon it should work since BMW designed it.
Does the Fall line have a recessed for O-rings at the mounting/thread area?
