I have only had the car for 6 days and at first I hated the rev matching, but have grown to enjoy it and the fact I do not need to pay attention to that part of the drive. The only time I do not like it is when I downshift to 2nd as I am slowing to a stop and it revs very high and makes me feel like I am trying to show off. So I am trying to adjust to the car and wait until I am almost stopped before down shifting. No race cars for me, but I can understand your frustration. |

I like to be rolling up to lights, and when in 3rd, blip it over to the left a couple times. The car thinks I'm going into 2nd, and revs very quickly, I do just to hear it pop pop pop.
Call me childish, whatever, its fun. Rev-matching with my own feet is fine, heel-toe'ing is fun practice, but just fooling around the auto stuff is good enough. |

I liked it at first, kind of a novelty.
Now i turned it completely off with BM3. I found i was missing that valuable and satisfying part of driving a manual. Even in town, traffic, parking etc needing subtle gentle rev matching, not blips. Even my wife prefers it now as it behaves like a 'proper' manual (Euro ladies do stick ) Not heel and toe-ing racer boy stuff, just managing the engine speed yourself. I usually brake in gear for a corner, then come off the brake, blip, down a gear or two,, turn in, gas... On the road, even pressing on i never find the need to simultaneously brake and downshift. Brake first then shift. Now it's just like any other manual. More fun. Last edited by doughboy; 02-21-2020 at 03:36 AM.. |

I like it. I dont always rev match when i'm driving anyways unless its my S2000 so having the car do it for me on the daily drive when i dont want to think about moving my feet that much is just nice.
And when i say move my feet that much, i have very thin feet so just dipping my foot over to blip the gas doesnt work well for me. I legit have to bring my heel up to do that. |

I find that I can still blip the throttle and make it behave just like a normal manual with auto-rev match on. There's a learning curve to it.
Aside from that, I personally love auto-rev match and can't see myself driving without it. This coming from someone who drove manual cars without auto-rev match for 23 years. |

I usually drive dsc off but for around town driving the heavy flywheel is tough with light throttle to blip.. hoping it's a little better in track with heavier throttle input. 👍

Get some of your grandkids to help you. But it sounds like you might be too old to drive safely.

Will being able to perform these mods be disabled on the newer build dates cars? Mine’s scheduled for production this month but saw a post where Bosch is locking down ECU’s on new builds

So I just tried to disable the rev matching and all appeared fine. I found the code in expert mode and deactivated it. I then went for drive and it still was active. Reprogrammed it a second time and it’s still active. All my other changes were successful but not this one. Any insight here?
