As another poster pointed out...the lci has tinted gauges which look blackouted when the backlight is off. Both would need to be replaced but at least with the pre-lci you would be able to drive around during the day. This would be more relevant to people who drive 6spd manual. Obviously if you drove DCT it wouldnt matter since the computer shifts for you and use can use the navi as the speedo. |

So it's not going to make any difference at all. Basically same part needs to be replaced, you'd replace it on both cars, and you can drive both cars if needed before you replace the part. |

I prefer the pre-LCI Bi-Xenon adaptive headlight (eyebrow is also LED lights) and tail light design, the L shaped tail light design is more classic and recognisable.
Dislikes: the front and rear turn indicator lights, reverse lights are halogen, but can be replaced.

I can't seem to find the difference in pictures comparing the pre LCI VS LCI other than what is posted above.
Trying to figure this out for my brother. He just bought an OG M2 pre-LCI and set up his account on this forum today. He'll probably start posting soon under "Rated_M2"

Im looking into getting an M2 in the near future and the only one that entices me is the 1st gen cars.
I have no desire for an S55 engine and its hard to beat the prices of 2016-17 cars nowadays |

The headlights on the lci are slightly better looking than pre but rear lights on the pre are much nicer than the lci. Also, the dashboard on the pre is much nicer than the lci, looks like they just tried to force changes into the lci.. This is all subjective of course. Don't think these parameters would actually matter once you start driving the car..
