Too much for my liking.
That's a lie! Know someone who works at Bmw Sydney, none been sold, they haven't even contacted anyone on the list yet

I’m not sure that’s true. I have paid a deposit and have a slot (with slot number) locked in. I saw the 3 cars including production slot number that the dealer was assigned all currently in status 111 and scheduled for build on the 23rd July on there allocation spreadsheet. So either the dealer went to a lot of trouble to get me to lock the purchase in with them or they have been assigned their initial allotment of cars already.

In saying that they still don’t have confirmed pricing on them yet but have been told what to put on as an uplift and will adjust down to rep if required.

Not sure they have official pricing yet. I had a dealer ring me that I visited in Melbourne a few weeks back yesterday asking me if I wanted to order an M2C. I said "can you give me the price?". He then said they had sold some already but couldn't find the price while I was on the phone. Said he would ring me back which of course he didn't.

I find most dealers absolutely useless and don't know their product. I have to inform them about what they are actually selling me.

Pretty sure they don't have official pricing as the dealer I have a deposit with would have called me to finalize my specs and put down the final deposit.

Agreed. They definitely don’t have official pricing yet. But they seem to have build slots allocated to each dealer already and those slot line up with the slots that other countries are getting.

I would expect official pricing to be out in the next few weeks.

They were prepared to take my deposit and give me a build slot. I can only speculate, but the car sold for 124k was fully optioned according to the sales manager.

Is it a non refundable deposit? My deposit is just to get a build slot when available. Then I have to commit with an increased non-refundable deposit.

Edit: do you have a full contract of sale?

All dealers are currently running with 'save the GST' on all current stock. So that's a good starting point. But you need to pressure them to get a good deal.

Actually they've called me as well earlier this week... 3 cars for July built gone now, and up to August built?

Yeh they gave me a contract and needed a 5k deposit. Price was too high so I bought an M4 pure!

Cool. I bought the Current M2 at a huge discount. Did you get a good deal on it? I had seen one for $130K and assume you did better than that.

From what I have gathered the uptake response is not exactly adrenaline rushing so they are still deciding on the official price.

There were quite a number of enquires but that alone doesn't guarantee a sale success unless the price is right.

As with any mass production car, the longer one wait out, the better the deal one will get.

110k with a 6-speed gearbox. Was built in September last year. 4000kms on the clock. I think I did alright

Have fun with the N55 M2, totally different beast and that little car has its own soul with that engine that I thin the S55 will take away a bit.

Tough one

M3 is the more premium car.
But M2C is fresher and probably more desirable right now.

Personally my next car will have to be a 4 door for family reasons so if I had to buy now then I'd probably pick the M3.

I guess it just comes down to the size of the cars and if you want 2 door or 4 door. The current M3 will be replaced in 2019, not sure if this affects your decision or not.

Well size of the car is the only difference right? Everything else should be the same... M3 you actually get more like carbon roof

I am guessing they are holding back due to the EOFY sale they are running on the current M2's. I can only assume there was a bunch of M2 stock in the country that they wanted to move first. But it would be a bit odd to release pricing on the new M2 whilst running a GST back promo on the current one, so my guess is we will see official pricing early in July.
