The CF trim in the M2 almost looks like a matte wrap when compared to the M4's trim. I know the quality will be better on the more expensive car but is it real CF or just a faux CF trim in the M2?

It is 100% real carbon fiber. It just isn't finished with a gloss layer like in the M3/4. Otherwise it's the exact same.

IMHO, it looks better on the M2 than on the M3/M4: it has this 3D texture effect and is less maintenance (ie finger prints do not show as much).
