Thanks very much! Luckily, he put PS4's on it about 2k ago...Phew! I've heard horrible things about the Contis'. PS4 FTW. Dying to get it on the track.

I have Contis and for daily driving they are fine. But I will get Michelins once they wear out. But I am leaning towards A/S 3+s.

PSS or PS4S are really good in the rain, better than the A/S 3+. I'd only go the A/S 3+ if you are dead set against a set of winter wheels and tires.

+1 on doing the ASD bypass harness - it's an easy DIY.

My need is a rain tire that is good in cooler weather for fall, winter, and spring driving. |

I take delivery December 6th...so not sure yet. I've driven my buddy's M2 a few times and the electric steering is definitely different - but I haven't had enough seat time to give an educated opinion. I'll have to circle back on that one after a few Canyon Runs or track days.

Sweet car!
I'd suggest Bimmercode app over ASD harness. It costs about the same and lets you code small improvements (like disabling the iDrive nag screen everytime you start the car). You will love it at the track, it's a weapon straight out of the box. Once at the limit you will see some understeer. It can be improved slightly by more aggressive alignment (0 front toe) but to really eliminate it you will need camber plates. Enjoy your new toy! Make sure to flick it into traction mode and open the MPE flaps |

Cool story and congrats. You’re only a few years younger than me. My 18 M2 was pretty much my dream car also.

I see you also have a Kia Soul - which is funny, my daily Driver will be a 2010 Kia Soul that I'll take over once my Daughter goes away to school in September 2020, and the M2 will be a track day / weekend trip car.

Congrats on the car. You will love it. Don't buy a beater to drive, you live exactly one time so drive the car you love. Don't save it for the next owner. I have over 40k and 22 track days on mine since new and it hasn't missed a beat. I don't regret a single mile.
When you are on your death bed you won't regret putting miles on the car you love but you may (among other things) regret that you didn't drive the car you loved. |

If life goes the way it should for me - the hope is that the car will stay with me and there will never be another owner, but hearing that yours is 22 track days in and 40k without missing a beat, helps me realize maybe I shouldn't worry quite as much about putting the miles on it.

Congrats! I may be biased, but you couldn't have made a better choice IMO. I have exact same spec...albeit with a "few" modifications
Order of operations for this car: 1) suspension (Ohlins R&T my personal choice) 2) MPE (if you don't have it - can't remember) 3) DP, I/C, Boost and Charge Pipes, Inlet pipe 4) Stg2 Tune 5) M-Seats (if you can find a set) - they lower your seating position as well as hold you in place better 6) Rest of the "cosmetics/fun stuff" I'm sure others will chime in and suggest different order, but this is my experience. Getting there is half the fun...the other half is DRIVING IT!!! Enjoy! Some "inspiration" . .. ... |
