Winter Wheel and Tire Set Up
Hello All,
New to BMW and Bimmerpost so please forgive any newbie questions. Taking delivery of a 2021 M2 Competition next week and I need to get a winter wheel and and tire set up quickly (I live in Northern New England). Not looking for a OEM set up so I checked out Tire Rack and they recommended a square set up 245/35-19 with Flo One wheels Size: 19x9.5, Offset: +22mm with Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4s. Looking for community recommendations. My concern is caliper clearance and wheel poke. Open for suggestions. Thanks. |

Congrats and welcome to the club or as some like to call it the cult!
There is a dedicated page for wheels and tires and you can find the thread on there below. Winter wheels for the M2 Competition. https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1546528 Be safe out there and enjoy.

They recommended the same package for me (2020 M2C). Delivery of the OEM set was 3-4 weeks, versus a couple of days from TR-- so that may be a consideration for you. I decided to get the OEM package though, as the cost was surprisingly similar. But, the Tire Rack package should be a good quality kit.

I am still figuring out what to because it looks like the BWM recommended package is not in stock anywhere. My concern with TR is that there comments about rubbing issues with those wheels/tires combination that requires some fitament adjustments.

Ok,
You should be able to run 275/35 and 255/35 x 19 or the stock 265/35 and 245/35 19 on your stock rims with no issues. There is a set of 275 and 255 PS4's for sale on the forum for $700.00. Another option is find some 437's and bulid your own winter package. Check the M3 section |

Thanks, ended up going with the 641m black cold weather pkg. By the time you add TPMS sensors to the Tire Rack pkg there isn’t a huge price difference. This is my first BMW so I decided to go OEM for winter wheels. The M2C is a beast. Just hardwired my Valentine One from the rear view mirror! Came from a STI. No comparison. LOL...

"You should be able to..." isn't a recommendation.
Some Winter tires aren't available in the stock sizes front and rear, and yet others run skinny, so the 255/275 isn't any bigger than the stock Summer 245/265. It comes down to the exact tire someone wants to run. |

Notice how your 255/275 combo is SKINNIER than the stock 245/265 combo. |

keep in mind that tread width measurement is not an exact science. there is no industry standard on how to measure this for comparison. also, winter tires normally run narrower than summer tires. the difference doesn't really bother me as much. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiret...jsp?techid=201

No mirror mount. V1 is mounted on the passenger visor. Phone with JBV1 mounted to the right of the gearshift. Prefer to have the V1 hidden as best I can to deter theft and state troopers with 20/20 vision seeing it underneath the mirror.

So... Don't do what I did and drop all that money on the 18" 640M's that bmw advertises on their website as fitting the m2 comp. They DEFINITELY don't fit around the brakes and you will be sad.
After some more reading I realize I'm dumb and this is noted in various locations in the forum, but maybe this will help someone else. |

It looks like the stock sizes are now available in PA4 @ Tire Rack. Maybe I've missed that earlier in the thread or in another thread. I could have sworn they were not at some point.

If I were to drive the car in a frequent amount of snow I’d go for the Michelin PA4s...but I don’t so I just went with Conti DWS06 to guard against cold snaps into the <20F range. I really like them.
