Just picked up an m2.

Shipping from Chicago to Kansas City, MO. Does anyone know of a good shipper to get my car down here quickly and safely?

If not, does anyone have any tips to protect the front temporarily for the drive?

Edit: if anyone owns a trailer in Chicago and wants to make money PM me.

Various brands of track tape (trackktape, track armour). Have also seen folks using blue painters tape (but looks ridiculous IMHO unless you bought LBB).

For 500 miles I'd just drive.
If you're picking up in Chicago and planning on getting PPF installed anyway, I'd just leave the car with Chicago Auto Pros. Then pick it up and drive her home safely.

At least $500. But I’d pay a bit more for covered transport.

I wouldn't bother shipping for 500 miles honestly.

You have 2 options.

1) Get PPF in Chicago.
2) get some track armor and wrap the frontend temporarily.

I'll speak from experience here. If you were willing to spend the $$ on shipping, and the car is chip free now and you care about preventing imperfections, spend the money on ppf and drive it.

PPF is a worthwhile investment for the long run if you're bothered by imperfections. The paint on these cars is not that durable IME.

Thanks for the advice. I just got back from a local shop and got a quote for the bumper, headlights, and rear fenders. I'll be wrapping it with something cheap for the trip and driving it straight to the shop!
