hahaha i wouldn't be driving a performance car in weather conditions like that anyway. you don't HAVE to have rwd and 400+hp in the snow...

Is the diameter of the stock tubing the same as the MPE tubing?

Here is my video to compare. Windows closed, valves closed and sport and sport+. The drone is lower from the first day, like I said I drive with closed valves and this sound much better than the stock with open valves, deeper

It's hard to tell but I swear mine is so much worse. Accelerating from 2700 up through 3200 rpm is almost unbearable...the wife hates it...she says it sounds broken, lol. I will take and post a video next time I drive it for comparison to the one above.

This is true...I took a quick video yesterday while driving and when I playback on the phone, you can barely hear it...similar to the video above, but IRL it is annoying as shit.

I did notice that with the MPE flaps closed and in Sport+ seems to be the best, meaning least amount of drone. Traction mode with flaps open is just stupid. I can barely hear the music (on half volume)!!

Given I am almost at the halfway point of the break-in, I have started to increase the RPM over 3500 and upward to 4500 before shifting and it seems to help as I don't stay in the "Drone Zone" as long. When cruising, I simply move to 1 gear higher than I normally would. The problem is still the highway...in 6th gear at 120KM/H (which is basically where I drive if there is no traffic), it puts the car right on 3000rpm, which is awful. It will be interesting to see if someone tries the resonator and what type of results that brings (if any).

I'll be taking mine in next week for the MPE exhaust. I asked the installer I wanted the stock resonator spliced in. I don't want any drone when cruising and I really don't want to hear it when I'm just cruising around. That's me. So I think should be happy.

Gotta say this. I turned the TC off which opened the flap on the stock exhaust absolutely loved the sound and farting even at low speeds. If I discovered this sooner I might not have bought the MPE.

I hope the MPE won't disappoint.

Let us know what you think - I am thinking about MPE as being another surprise for my pops.

Similarly, I don't think he would want something that had a lot of drone - but I would think you could always just turn the radio up a bit if you were cruising on the highway, right?

Sounds mad (in a good way) and very similar to my F80 ZCP - very nice!

Please keep me posted on this one.
I'm really curious on how this works out.
Do we know if the piping diameter is the same for stock and MPE? Specifically will the resonator fit?

Roger that guys. Will keep you posted.

This Tuesday it goes for the rear spoiler and M stripes to be put on at the body shop. When it comes out it will to the exhaust shop, probably end of the week.

He also informed me that if you don't at least tack weld the tips you will get that unwanted vibration. He will tack weld the tips and where it joins the rest of the pipe.

Here is some of his work.

That is what actually works very well on my Mini John Cooper Works! Day and Night on the inside! I will likely drop the seats in my M2 as well (once it will have arrived I'll try). The rear seats significantly muffle the exhaust sound from underneath the car towards the cabin.

So I had a chance to drive around town today for the first time with ASD disables via coding and it's almost a night and days difference.
You can actually have a conversation in the car without needing to yell.

There is still drone at 3000 but somehow it's less annoying but I need to take it on the highway to assess better.

I had one installed the last Friday. If you have your windows up and close the flaps, the car is perfectly understated. More so, if you just want to listen to the radio.

Honestly, I thought it would be kind of a pain to have to change modes and open or close the valves all the time. But I actually love the amount of control it gives me over how much sound I want. So in the morning on the way to work I turn it down to comfort and leave the valves closed for a chill ride, once I'm on the way back I roll down the windows and turn up everything.

Love the MPE, so far. Very glad I chose this exhaust, over the other options.

yeah after a few days with the ASD off i do notice it is quieter inside, still notice the drone on the highway but maybe its not as bad anymore hard to tell, what i can say is that i am sort of getting use to it now and it isnt bothering me as much as before, on a side note i was in an underground parking garage and the sound is just pure goodness , made me wish i lived in a condo for that moment of time

May need to look into options to fixing this.

ASD off with MPE is the way to go. Amazing how much loud fake noise was in my cabin.
