IDK. I thought i was dreaming in that shop, surrounded by some of the most ridiculous super cars imaginable... But yes, I was iffy about being the guinea pig, but being a "former" performance engine builder/tuner myself (much different and much simpler platform but same exact principals), as well as an engineering major which later switched to theoretical physics, Not only am I no longer worried about messing with the DME @ 1300 miles incredibly excited to see what Enzo can do with this car... PS...Kinda cool thinking all the fastest M2's out there will be running an ECU/DME calibration based off of my car Your Welcome fellow M2 owners

I don't know much about Enzo out west here, but it seems they crack the code of the ECU itself, and flash a new firmware for it. Is that right? No piggyback? So when Dinan says it would take many years to do that correctly nowadays, which is why they use a piggyback now when they used to do flashes themselves, that is BS? |

This is a real ECU calibration which is far superior to a "Piggyback JB4 or similar"...Any computer is "crack able. Hackers can tap into CIA computers and do just about anything... If you have the source code, reading, deleting, deactivating, writing and modifying files hypothetically would be incredibly easy. I'm sure certain connected ppl have access and other hackers/ computer scientists can "crack" it in a matter of hours, or minutes...So yes, Dinans statement is BS. LOL I have my fingers crossed that Enzo will eventuslly develop a 450R+ (Maybe 500+R) Kit for our cars similar to the new F8X's 550R+ kits. Based on my experience, reports from certain tuners on this board claiming the M2 is nothing more than a more aggressively tuned M235i are premature...Yes, the turbo may be close to maxed at 19-20psi, but the N55/S55 hybrid is going to capable of much higher numbers than the standard N55 IMO.... The ONLY thing I will say is Enzo agrees which my last statement.

If you are talking about the internals of the M2 version of the N55, I am sure you are right that it is capable of significantly higher HP and torque numbers, and safely, but I'm also pretty sure those numbers would need a different turbo, wouldn't they?

The prob is the twin scroll...While it spools so fast, it heat soaks even faster than a turbo w one impellar on the hot side. Its hard to say at this point. a good meth kit, cool day, good fuel, high flow but efficient i/c w piping that flows plus the exhaust dump, 21+ PSI a great Enzo tune....Who knows... I think its safe to say the turbo is the weakest link...but limits are determined by SO MANY factors...We shall see...

We already have an example of 370whp M235i w/ tune, DP, IC running 93oct and a 430whp M2 w/ tune, DP on 93oct. No E85. Same dyno. So something is different.

I just want to state that Enzo's dyno does read a little low according to him...So let's route for big gains as opposed to big numbers...
It's pretty well established that the M2 in stock form w/ 93 makes about 330 at the crank and up to 370 on e-85...on the "average dyno" even more on the notoriously optimistic dyno's Personally I'm not paying much attention to the baseline numbers...I've ran into plenty of fast cars the last few weeks and based on these "run ins" I know my car is tough and under-rated. Especially considering I'm breaking it in and in the case I do go WOT, Im still shifting well below red line... If he gets me 30-40 whp out of the car on top of the baseline e-85 blend numbers I will be more than happy...I'm also bringing my stock cat in case he wants a baseline 100% stock. As I'm guessing there will be a calibration available for stock catted or sport catted cars and one for cat less cars. Unless he feels the DME is capable of adjusting itself for minor changes, I will be buying engine mods as fast as they are released and suspect he will require additional R & D as parts are released that make major changes in the cars drive-ability. I will be ore than happy to donate my car in the name of science LOL.

The gas cap states E-10 is fine...Which means thats conservative. If you go 3/4 93AKI and 1/4 8-85 which is 85% Ethanol, 15% gasoline and detergents (BP e-85 detergents are bmw approved) ....if you do the mathe thats 40% ethanol in 25% of the tank.
E-100% would be 25% ethanol. 50% would be E-12.5...40% is a ittle under 10% I was told from a very experienced N55 guy 30% was OK...avoid much higher... There are reasonably priced systems that measure ur ethanol percentage...Perhaps another user could get more specific.

Anyways UPDATE: 1st I got the car back for a few days tp basically makes sure everything was running smoothly, then bring back to Enzo for minor adjustments... As per my request and Enzos agreement we started with a small boost increase...only about 1.5 psi over stock...And HOLY SHIATT...I guess thats how u know hes the real deal...Anyone can cranck up boost for power...True tuners can increase power with fuel and ignition mapping alone and I'm sure some secrets they keep to themselves... Now as some of you know I was in a minor accident in which luckily I caught on Camera...No one was hurt and we both drove away...The woman that hit me lied to police b4 she knew I had the accident from 4 angles (3 gopro + my phone) also a WRX STi saw it from afar, a few other cars and an older gentleman on a Buel Motorcycle that had just given me a thumbs up... EVERYONE STOPPED. They all made similar remarks that basically they were admiring the car and felt so horrible for what happened... The Older Indian woman that spoke very little English sat in her car until the Police came. Never apologized and like I said, Lied about what happened..... All in all 5 separate ppl filed offficial witness reports, and I showed the officer the cell phone video (It was mounted on dash and recording in loop mode...also displaying the speed (GPS)...So her insurance will likely cover most if not all pf the damage. ...Good news is 1. All the parts I need (Driver/Pass Fenders, Passamger outer door panel, both side skirts and rear bumper are in high stock in Germany. My body shop is paying the extra to get them here fast...I was told 2 weeks for parts, and by then the car would be prepped, front wheel replaced, front suspension repaired and the body prepped for paint....So realistically Im looking at a Month. While we wait for parts and since the car is drive-able and rear suspension was unaffected, Enzo will have tons of time for R&D...And while he wasnt satified with the smoothness of the power/torque curves at higher boost levels, the power gains were quite frankly signifigantly higher that anything else Ive seen released...But He doesn't seem like the type to release a product until its perfect.....So with a few weeks and the proper JB4 hybrid, he's confident we can get 18-20 PSI with a SMOOTH powerband. That being said his tune is making almost the same dyno gains on 1.5 psi increase as other tuners running 5 psi over stock. Im even going to ask if he can limit boost in 1st gear , maybe lesser reduction in 2nd so I can get a good launch with DSC OFF. But that's where we sit...Im incredibly happy with Enzo's far from finished beta version of my ecu tune, and deeply saddened about the accident and the big ///M events ill prob miss... But beginning of August, 1st cool day I'm hitting a test and tune day at E town and adding some track slips to the dyno charts that should be perfected by then....Thats all...wish I could say more....
