So does the $51,700 come loaded, lightly optioned, or no options?

I have to say the engine/exhaust note on the new product page is not bad at all. Not great, but far better than the m3/4.

My guess is that will just be the base car w/ manual transmission. From what I read, it doesn't seem that they are offering a whole of of options with the car regardless. The interior for example, is only available in black w/blue stitching.

Does anyone know if they are charging for the auto trans?

Does not include destination so the real base is $52,695.

Pretty sure he was referring to the Canada thread where the 61k CAD price comes loaded with all the bells and whistles from the m235 (nav, heated everything, lumbar support, etc).

Base is in line with expectations - will be interesting which direction they go with inclusion of DCT. (No cost manual or upcharge for DCT)

Hopefully comes loaded like a base M3, Comfort access, Nav, heat seats, ext.

All I hope is that the Nav comes standard because I can't stand the tiny screen that comes with it if you don't have the Nav. Would honestly prefer no screen to that small screen.

Also hope that back up sensors are in their own package because with the M3 you have to get the 5k package to get the back up sensors.

?

The screen size does not change with whether you have the Nav or not

I think he meant the screen display. The physical flat screen is the same size, but the display is reduced

Essentially, it's $4k more than an M235 w/LSD. If we're being honest, many might be better served with the 235 (especially the 240) as a street car. But I'm sure most enthusiasts will take the brakes/steering rack/engine upgrades all day for the $4k.

Of course it does. On the M3 it comes standard so they don't have the option to get the samller screen. But on the 340i and 235i, without nav it has a smaller screen. Look at the pictures with and without. You can test this on BMW's "Build you Own". Selecting Nav on and off will change the display. I have seen it in person as my buddy has a 335i without nav and it is the small screen shown. I believe it also adds the extend display on the instrument cluster. To me it seems that the Nav will come standard with the M2.

I have too agree, I think 51K is a fair price for the car and 10K is lots of $$$$$ in my book, you can buy a new motorcycle or a semi-new car with that difference.

How long before we can get a sense for options pricing? How long was the lag in the other countries?
