Just goes to show that races depend just as much on the driver as they do on the car.

Might be an error, I doubt the M2 is lighter than the E46.

Depending on the spec - I believe it.

I've had most of those M cars. (e46, e92, f87, f87c)

I'm a bit surprised. 1550kg is about 3400lbs, didn't realize you could find one so light. I thought most were at least 3600lbs.

Agree. I think it's 1650 kg, especially if DCT.

Forgive me, but that video was a complete waste of time, other than 3 guys having fun with 3 fun cars.

If you're going to do that sort of thing they should all be bone-stock, or have exact mods for all 3. At a BARE MINIMUM they should all wear the same tires.

E46 M3 weight can fluctuate a lot, depending on options. It can easily weigh 3500+ lbs in stock form when fully equipped with power seats, moonroof, 19" non-ZCP wheels/tires (those are the heaviest wheels), etc.

Some members weighed their euro spec M2C on scales at under 3,600 lbs.

So it's not surprising that a stock e46 M3 configured a certain way can outweigh the M2C. I can assure you that it can.

Bruh, I full time wfh now, probably have a zoom Thanksgiving on deck, and might see a ball drop on an empty times square this year. I appreciate any content I can get right now to break up the day.

Yeah, the weights are wrong, the M2C figure is for M2C manual DIN whereas the e46 weight is EU which adds 75 kilos, 68 kilos for driver and 7 kilos for luggage.

So apples to apples its 1550 vs. 1495.

Reminds me of this Monty Python sketch.

3 people that can't drive manual have a race.

I reckon it depends from the spec
DCT, Power seats, sunroof etc. add up quite a bit of weight even more if you have all three of those

I remember talking with a friend of mine with a track build M3 e46 claiming that power seat on e46 are quite heavy

Ditto here

a bit more than 1600kg about is average for an M2C DCT, an E46 M3 SMG is just the same.

E46 M3/E90 M3/1M/ F87M2/M2C

Joe Achilles wheelspinning @ take off. Just for the Youtube hits.

If you launch that car from zero kmh with a bit more carefulness it's 'with almost no wheelspin' starting like a slingshot. In first.

Cheers

Keep in mind the M2C in this video is probably the lightest in terms of specifications you can option.

- Blue Brakes
- Manual
- No sunroof
- No electric seats

If he had the 437 wheels that would be the lightest factory spec.

Wouldn't this UK spec have electric seats?

Wonder what would happen if he got some stickier tires? 12.6 is pretty off pace for this car. I bet it would run 11s with a warmed up set of track tires.
