VTT crank bolt capture

Just curious to know if anyone has installed the VTT crank bolt capture on their n55 powered m2 just as a precaution. Since the n55 and n54 share the same crank hub as the s55, but are less likely to fail.

I'm probably going to get one soon for my car, but just wanted to know how everyone else is doing.

So I am assuming no one? Well I guess I will be the first then, just hoping the bolt holes line up.

I'll probably install just for good measure. Only takes about 4-5 hrs to install. Can be done without removing any coolant or other lines if careful.

Please let us know how it goes.

It's also alot different on the N55 powered M2 since we dont have the bottom mounted oil cooler.

But sure I'll keep you guys posted.

There's also a sale next week incase any of you guys are interested. It's going to be 30% off which is even better than the deal they had on black Friday for the CBC.

I forgot to also mention, the install will be a huge PITA and waste of time if I have to pull the radiator fan, remove the belts, and drop the bottom skid plate just to see the capture not fit. I've had alot of stuff not fit my m2 before but this would be the worst thing to not fit by a long shot.

Good luck! Please try and document the process in case others decide to follow suit.

Thanks! Yeah I'll try my best to take photos, but generally speaking I never do any install guides because I'm more focused on what I'm doing rather than taking photos and lengthening the whole process. Plus this is in a really cramped area where I'll be doing the install with a mirror, so I'm not sure I can even take photos.

It's listed for $99 on their site but always seems to be that price. Where are you seeing 30% off?

It's part of their march tax return sale, code is CBC30 as per their other forum post. Splock was 30% off last week.

Just wanted to update this thread, my buddy with an m4 spun his crank hub and just got a new one put in and really wanted to have the CBC installed at the same time as well to save on labour and bought mine. So I cannot install this as intended, and will likely either wait for it to go on sale again or just for go this part if it isn't on sale since the N55 doesn't suffer from crank hub issues and the CBC was just something for me to fiddle with.
