Alarm going off

I was woken up this morning from the alarm going off on my 2019 M2C. It had been parked in the garage for the last four days and around 0640 this morning the alarm went off. Lights flashing, horn blaring, red light blinking under the rear view mirror.

No one was in the garage and the video camera out there didn't show any motion or other activity. When I went to investigate I was able to stop the alarm by pushing the unlock button on the key fob. Unfortunately, any attempts to lock it back up again would either immediately set off the alarm, or, it'd go off 2 minutes later. I checked all the doors, the trunk, the hood, everything seems normal. Nothing seems out of place. It went off probably half a dozen more times while I tried different things. Nothing seemed to make any difference.

Thankfully I was able to get an appointment at the local dealer this morning so I brought it over there straight away. Of course, it sat in the service bay for over 10 minutes without an issue.

Has anyone had a similar issue? If so, what was the fix?

Following up on my own thread here. The dealer kept my car over the weekend and diagnosed a low-battery condition and a fault code in the alarm siren. Apparently it has its own battery that's supposed to charge off the main battery. That wasn't happening, I guess. They replaced part 65-75-9-493-759, which involved removing the rear taillights, rear bumper cover, and the rear bumper support trim on the passenger side. Warranty covered it.

The replaced part looks to be the Alarm Siren! I had a problem where the battery completely died while the car was in storage but the alarm still went off off when I jacked up the car to change the wheels so the alarm system having its only battery makes sense to me.

Nice to know ur M2 is fixed. Looks like your dealer did a good job not pulling the "Unable to reproduce" excuse. For future reference always video record problems and photograph iDrive warning messages. It is nice evidence to have!!! We all know problems suddenly disappear once cars hit the dealership for repair.
