Dealer Launch Model Production Complete!

My dealer just shared their M2 Launch Model Production build sheet with me. It's LBB and adds executive package. Manual Transmission.

No surprise on price or included standard equipment. Indicated that this model wasn't changeable, so presumably all dealers will get the same flavor for their showrooms.

It included their VIN & order number so I promptly called to check order status and it's complete, awaiting transport.

Won't be long now!

His e-mail said it may be a couple days to a week before they can start entering orders.

A friend of mine just did the same however the initial item was black with DCT and exec. After initially being told that he couldn't make any changes , He was able to configure it as he wants it LBB with 6 speed.

Just got the call from my dealer this morning.
Same thing. LBB, Manual, Executive.
Not what I really wanted so I left them a message that I'm not interested in that one but I'd still like to talk to get an idea of when the customer orders will be placed.

We did that on the Macan. Best way to get the car early! They even used ours at the big launch party. It was out for 5 mins before dad freaked that someone could touch it and they cleared a path and put it in the back.

Haha sounds like something i would do. Sales rep asked if the car could stay at the dealer for a few days when it comes in so others on the waiting list can see it in person and i agreed. I was thinking 1 day should be enough, maybe half day

Sort of the same deal for me. My dealer received a "non-configurable" allocation in AW/DCT, but he called another dealer in the area that actually wanted that exact combo and they had a "configurable" allocation, so they swapped allocations and I will be getting an LBB/6spd MT. Pretty excited!!

I just ordered mine as well. It's a HEA car ordered as LBB with a manual transmission.

HEA stands for 'Handler-Erst-Ausstattung', which are the first production cars sent to the dealers for presentations in case you didn't to know.

So what's the expected time between production and receipt of the actual vehicle, have any of you been told? 60-90 days?

I talked to a nearby dealer yesterday and he told me that the breakdown on dealer launch models was 50/50 LBB/AW, 75/25 DCT/6sp, 75/25 with exc packaage/ without exc package.
He also told me that their dealer launch model was finishing production very soon and he thought it would be in country within a month. It is AW, Executive package and DCT. I passed as DCT is a deal breaker.

Are HEA cars modifiable? Color options etc.

Generally no but the dealer can request a certain configuration. That is, BMW builds a bunch that are pre-configured and the dealer can ask for one one those that most closely matches the configuration they want... they may or may not get it.

I think you were lucky in that the dealer was able to request a car configured the way you want and was given one. They aren't able to "build" them the way non-HEA cars are built.
