I wonder whether some people are getting the demo cars?? Although my dealer initially said they where getting one and then a few weeks later backtracked and said they wouldn't have one. They seem to know as much as us haha.
If your getting their second car and the dealer is only getting 1 then it kind of makes sense they can't tell you when it will come as they wont have their 2017 allocations. All very frustrating though. I suppose I should look on the bright side at least I can buy one, unlike the shambles of GT4 and GT3 RS allocations with Porsche!!!!

My dealer has said BMW have told them they will get 3 in 2016. At the moment I'm no 2 but may be moving into no 1 as the chap at no 1 isn't sure he wil take it.

Still no U.K. Config.

Dealers don't seem to know anything... While I was spec'ing I asking for a price of the M235i Carbon mirror caps. Came back and said no point giving you a price as they wont fit. M cars have different shape mirrors I.e M4/M3 mirrors. Clearly hasn't even looked at the brochure!

Also asked about the m driver performance de-limit and driving course option. Just got a blank look and wondered off to ask someone. They didn't know either. I had to show them the uk brochure blurb to prove it was real.
I do find it bonkers that we consumers know more than the dealers. I actually told my dealer what the M Performance parts for the M2 would be, haha, as they had no clue!

I also would probably spec the M Drivers package to raise the top speed like in all the press / marketing material too. But it wasn't on the build configurator when I had to go in and spec the car to 'move things forward'.

Maybe your right however it sounded like they didn't know any timings for any build slots even for the ones for this year...

Agreed on those Porsche models although I do wonder whether the M2 will sell out for the UK. Remember it's not even on sale yet and I may not get one until 2017 haha (Although I am in sleepy Norfolk ) It seems like only a few hundred will reach the UK each year. Others here say that BMW will ramp up production but it seems the factory can only make so many. Suppose time will tell.

Yes I showed my guy the pictures of the M performance parts that were posted on here as they hadn't heard of any being available. Tbh it's hardly surprising they don't know the details, I was wondering around the showroom and couldnt believe how many different models there are now.

I'll give it until mid Jan then I'll start pestering for more info. At least if they can give me a build month I can plan Trip away in it.

The guy I speak to at BMW, has worked for two BMW dealers for over 10 years. He spoke to his previous dealers M specialist, who said, BMW plan making 400 M2s for the first 3 years of production.

My dealer now taking orders for 2017, all 3 off his 2016 M2s are sold.

My dealer knows the weeks his 2016 cars are in production.

My dealer said, they have one in May, one in sept and the final one in Nov. I wanted one for my birthday in October, so I'm having the September slot. I am going in to finalise spec tomorrow or Thursday, I'll let you know how I get on.

I know for a fact they can get you a finance quote through the BMW, so it's on BMW uk's system in some way, that's been avail since 4th Nov.

I'd push us dealer.

Nice info, going to chase my dealer to see if he has any more info in the new year. I doubt he will but you never know.

Are we expecting M2 production until 2020? That would make 2000ish M2's for the UK if they keep that level. I don't know how that compares tbh. Although a quick check and it seems theres already 3100 M4's registered in the uk.

Also Smee did you get / see the M Drivers Package (delimit) option?

Out of interest which dealer group are you with? Might give me some more clout if I can quote dealers.

There are some fantastic pics in that brochure that haven't been posted on the M2 forum before. You should also post it in the photos and videos section.

Thanks for posting the brochure.

Interesting that you already have a confirmed ETA for October. I asked my dealer (same dealer who supplied my 1M) and he's not able to confirm a build allocation or slot as yet. I'm in no hurry but he did say it would be 2016 delivery and they have two cars. One of which was pre-sold before i reserved the second.

I've havent spec'd as yet as i'm unsure between going for a manual or DCT. He wants me to drive a M4 DCT before i decide.

As for the 1M - i had it from new and let it go last year; various factors really; space, arrival of a new baby, moving house etc. and i wasnt driving it anywhere near what i'd have liked to. Sold it with 6K on the clock with me owning from new. We've now moved and i got the wife something more suited (4x4) for her and the little one which means i can play with cars again.

Some say i might regret getting rid of the 1M but the M2 is promising to be something really special (so i hope). Its just missing that rarity element which is a bit of a bummer... 1M was an amazing machine - no doubt about it. Those who have had it will know.
Wow just 6k on the clock really, that's low low mileage. 3 normal months for me
