Well, apparently, there are 2 apps that do different things! And both apps are by the same developer.

I'm using both Bimmercode and Bimmerlink. Bimmerlink to turn off ASD and to keep the exhaust flaps open. Bimmercode for everything else. With these 2 apps, you can customize the hell out of everything. I'm too much of a wuss to do anything more than a few minor adjustments.
What do you use the bimmercode for?

Dude... there are literally like 1,000 different things you can customize. It's crazy. So far, I've only used it for comfort access, getting rid of that dumb default legal screen that says, "Don't operate iDrive when you're going 156mph," or some such crap, and a few other small things.

But, if you really want to customize the hell out of how your car behaves, it's all there.

That is really annoying.

Thank you again so much, Carl! The terrible drone at 2000 RPM is now gone!
I don't know what causes the drone at 2000 RPM. Though, someone mentioned that they thought it was the ASD. Which is what prompted me to download BimmerLink and get an adapter to turn it off.

When ASD is off, the drone is gone.

It's magical!
Thats fantastic. And I'm thrilled to hear you think the car is as quiet as your 328i with ASD off. I had drone in a car a long time ago and hated it. On your list of pros I absolutely need to be able to have conversations with people and bring family members around without complaining. Being able to shift between being reliable, somewhat comfortable daily driving and balls out performance driving is what ///M means to me.

Can you disable comfort access with bimmercode?

The Bimmercode app updated today. Maybe that fixed the issues with the M2C.

Good to know. I didn't have any issues before this outside of user error. So far just ASD off, legal disclaimer off, CA folding mirrors. I think the only other thing I saw mentioned that I'd like to do is door handle lights on when reversing.

There are several settings around comfort access, all of which are controllable.

Thanks. My target would be to entirely disable the comfort access function (but not keyless go) to avoid having the car potentially stolen.

Same as like removing option 322 via esys.

Possible?

Bimmercode Coding Only Good for One Driver Profile?

I accidentally switched to a different driver profile and all the things I coded by Bimmercode were gone. I had the VIM via USB coded but it suddenly won't play video when the car was moving and gave me a safety warning... After switching back to my usual driver profile everything is good. So Bimmercode is specific to only one driver profile and maybe to the specific key also?

Anybody know how to code it so that when the headlight turn on (auto) the auto high beam function turns on?

Newbie to Coding x1- Question

Hi everyone, I just leased a 2018 X1. (I also have a 2013 535). I had the 5 coded by someone local but will be using Bimmercode to code the X1.

THe X1 came with halogen lights so my first order of business will be to replace with LED's, thus my question. I went through the Bimmercode demo on my Iphone and found the voltage monitoring section, I want to cancel any warning messages. There are 3 options - Low beam warm,Low beam cold and low beam lamp.

Low Beam lamp has an option to set to LED, do I need to change that setting to LED? I am wondering about the warm and cold monitoring options, does anyone how I need to set to avoid the warning messages.

Thanks in advance.

My comp will be arriving in the next week or two.

What do I need to buy to make BimmerCode or link connect to the car? And is it against any warranty? I’m in the UK if that makes any difference?

I own an android phone so it sounds as though only bimmercode can work with an android?

Would I be better off with Carly? It appears bimmercode/bimmer link split things into two apps, one of which only works with iphone.

So I assume the answer is I must use Carly to get everything no?

On their site it lists all of the coding and as far as I can tell it has everything bimmercode and link together have, is that accurate?

I tried to use Bimmercode it seems was able to connect to my ECU but when I change settings it does not work. For example I activated the legal disclaimer removal but once I left the setting page it will automatically restore the default setting. Even if I stay at the setting page and restart the car, the disclaimer still pops up....

Had the same problem. You gotta click on the "code" link on the upper right of the screen, which then sends you to a page to pay $29.99 or something like that. Once you've paid, BimmerCode will decide stuff.

It's strange to me that you cannot have the mirrors fold in when locking door by default.

With keyless entry you just hold your hand during locking for two seconds and it will fold without any coding, thats how it works with my car...
