I should've wrote "functional valves"...all those are doing is acting as a balancer; doubt that changes the volume or sound much. May as well just install straight pipes.

Add the Milltek

This is Max Marshall's M2 Comp at MMR Performance is Leicestershire. He's doing some work on my car next week and he explained that milltek used their car for development. Max said the exhaust on this car is a full system, removing OPFs and downpipes with high flow sports cats. I'll hopefully get to hear this in person when I'm there.

Be interested to know if that Milltek has the race or EC mid silencer.

Personally it's a bit hollow sounding for me, but hard to tell on a phone!

Karlosm2c be great if you could report back with your feelings if you get to hear it in person..

The Eisenmann Race exhaust:

Attachment 1995738

Retains all the emissions crap, loses a ton of weight and still uses the factory valves so you can creep around silently.
Did I mention it is super light and Eisenmann are renowned for making the best sounding exhausts on M cars.

Also its cheap at 1800 euros.
Please post a sound clip when you get a chance.

Doughboy,

My knowledge of exhausts isn't all that great, but happy to report back. Max said it should be ok to get a ride in the car on Bruntingthorpe air strip to get a feel for what they have done to their M2C. Not long now 😎

Had a discussion today with Eisenmann. They do not recommend installing the race rear muffler om an opf car because it will trigger limp mode because less back pressure even with the OPF filters in place.. zaustworx back box delete seems to work fine tho!?

Does the race version allow you to use factory valves? It doesn't look like it does, compared to the non race version? If it does, I'll likely buy the Eisenmann race.

Doughboy - It did sound great in person. Really angry on start up (and a loud idle!). Max let me drive it on Bruntingthorpe track / air strip and, aside from the car being rapid, I don't remember thinking the exhaust sounded bad / annoying at high revs. Max did say he wasn't quite happy with the note of the exhaust right now and a tweak to the remap on the car will sort this. Still, I think it would be too loud for my taste. I would want a quieter, but noticeable idle exhaust note with a sound that builds nicely as the car goes through the rev range.

500+bhp in a M2 Comp was awesome though

Dinan coming soon. Video up on their facebook vs stock setup.

Another view of the prototype #Dinan #F87 #M2C exhaust. The car is utterly transformed when the atrocious stock muffler (aka "the full diaper") is removed and a proper can is utilized. The over-sized 4" tips don't hurt the look either. And then there is the sound.. #BMW #M #DinanDifference

Sounds good.

Yeah I don't want "loud".

Did he say whether it had the "Race" or the "EC approved" mid silencer? That's the only options from Milltek.

I'd prefer the more muted but still free flowing option.

Sorry, I didn't ask if it had the Race or EC approved mid silencer.
