Which tune or tuner to use?

Had my 2020 m2c all of 2 days and I'd like to take the muzzle off of it. I looked and dont see much on the tuning options yet. It's already fast etc but I'm just thinking that a few months down the line I'm going to want it to go even faster.

Does anyone prefer Dinan over any other options?

Carbahn is the answer if you want a warranty, and Bm3 is the answer if you don’t really care.

I have Dinan but would recommend Carbahn. The driveability on Dinan is good, but not OEM like. The stage 1 warrantied tune makes you buy their Heat Exchanger and is capped at 91 octane power levels. The OEM+ style tune is not a great value.

If you don't care about warranty and have an ECUTEK tuner nearby I would go with them.

Just remember that a tune voids your engine and drive chain warranty. Most will tell you that claims even with Dinan are hard.

I have Bootmod3.

Easy to remove if you need to take your car into the dealer.

Made a huge difference immediately!

Very good tech support too!

LOL I knew Commanderwiggin was going to add his plug!

I'd be using ECUTEK myself if I didn't have so much trouble getting it on my particular M2C. Ended up with BM3 and am very pleased. Great customer support which I've used 3xs now...

I can't recall what your trouble was but if you had hit up Bend Calibration they do everything remotely and have complete information packages and beautiful flex fuel sensors/filters to help you along the whole process. They also can refer users to ecu unlocking services if needed for the Mar/April update affected cars. Either way Ecutek imo is the best option and plenty of other threads about it on bimmerpost...mainly full flex fuel integration and on the fly map switching. Looking forward to the new racerom update soon that will bring launch control and other offerings like we've seen on the Supra platform (9sec stock motor cars with ecutek tuning )

We did a local M2C here. In and out, less than an hour, didn't even need to remove the DME. And part of that was fiddling with the DME pins with no lights and limited space..

If you weren't local, you can always ship your DME to any ECUTek master tuner to get it unlocked, then pick the master tuner you want tuning it.

My car was a PITA. Made two trips to get it unlocked, but Ecutek could not support my DME. My car was built 5/2020. My tuner was on the phone with them for hours both times I was there. I gave up and installed BM3.

Ran ECUTEK on my Evo X with a flex fuel setup...Loved it.

ECUTEK is still trying to get their tune on my car. They were very proactive to try to help me but the closest shop is 3.5 hrs away...

Best,
HAZMAT
