Hey guys. I found a pre owned 2019 manual M2 comp on Shift.com that has 24,000 miles, vin WBS2U7C53K7D53786. It looks like it was sold back to the dealer on 6-30 but BMW couldn't sell it CPO so it went to auction only 1 month later. Does this seem strange to anyone else or is this pretty normal? I wish I could see the CPO report from BMW.

Well first red flag to me is that it has 24k miles

Call your local service advisor and tell him you are about to buy this car and will have them service going forward. Ask him to pull the service history. Most of the time they will do it if you play it right.

There's definitely an issue but it could be something as stupid as the previous owner did an oil change himself instead of the dealer. Or more likely previous owner had issues. Possibly even got flagged for tune? I wouldn't buy unless 100% certain it will have full balance of regular new car warranty.

It's possible the 1200 mile break in service was not done, it's a requirement for CPO.

Maybe it was tuned. If it got flagged, no CPO

My 2020 that I picked up in September 2019 has 16,000 miles on it. I really like driving it.

24,000 in 18 months is a little high, but not outrageous. :

Someone grabbed it. They dropped the price to $48,500. I ended up ordering one out of state. If you factor in $1k maintenance, poss $3k for a new clutch, $1k for new tires & $2-$3k for brakes, it's a no brainer to get one new with a discount. It's like $2-$3k more to get a brand spanking 2 year newer one.
