Non participating dealer?
Hi all - have a deposit down on a brand-new '20 leftover M2 - extremely excited for it (and can't wait to join these forums).
price is negotiated, etc. but when the financing manager got back to me (doing the deal through e-mail / phone) - the person said that the dealer is not eligible for the 0.9% financing and can only offer 1.9%? My credit score is typically 775-825 depending on the day with 15+ years of history, so I don't think it is a credit issue. My question - is the dealer trying to arbitrage 1% on me here? The 0.9% is plastered all over their dealer's website so not sure what is up... appreciate it! and can't wait to join! |

The dealer is full of BS. The BMWUSA site says 0.9% on 2020 M2C.

"Through March 31, 2021, 0.90% APR financing for up to 60 months on any new 2020 BMW M2 Competition model available from participating BMW dealers to very well qualified customers who meet BMW Financial Services NA, LLC credit requirements."
The BMW website specifically does say that the deal only applies at participating BMW dealerships. The fact that the dealer has the .9% on their website is sloppy at best and more likely is willful misrepresentation. I would tell them that you'll take the car at .9% or you'll find another dealership that will. |

Since I keep getting sent trade-in your 2017 letters, hold your ground. If necessary, ask to talk to the manager of the dealership. With the economy affected by COVID-19, a dealership should be anxious for your business.

Remember, factory support for model year 2020 cars ends March 31st.
That means that their M2 will not have trunk money or qualify for loyalty, etc. after that. They can provide a discount or something else to make up for it.

Definitely BS. I encountered the same at the end of the year with 2020 CS from the finance guy. Emailed and called the sales manager directly and he said he'll honor the advertised rates and he did. My credit score is also well above their highest tier and I bought like 5 cars from that dealership. They are definitely trying to mark up BMWFS rates. Don't settle for it.
The other thing you may try to do is get financing approval directly from BMWFS before you even go to the dealer. I've not tied it but was told it works to bypass the local finance guy. |
