Keep in mind that some of the ones produced first may wait longer for the boat until more are produced as they don't ship them over one by one. Everything is done in batches.

Mine went to Production Begins one or two days ago, it's not blue but it is DCT/CCB.

BTW, aren't the rotors cast iron and not steel?
Yes and no. There are rotors made out of steel, and aluminum even (outside of Carbon Ceramic). There are "iron" rotors that are high carbon alloyed as well. In general the vast majority of passenger car rotors are some type of cast iron, but I'm not sure what type of cast iron, or what variance of carbon added in or other alloying. They are just colloquially referred to as steelies, along with steel rims in my experience and geographic area. Never heard them called "casties" or "irons" basically.

Being simple though - yes, most rotors are "cast iron"

Learn something new every day, I guess. I've never heard of brakes being called steelies before. Guess I'm old school.

Mine is in awaiting transport too. Should be on a boat this coming week. The boat averages about 20-22 days on previous cars I've ordered, so I'm guessing it'll be at the dealership and ready for me in about 30 days from now.

Dealer is going to leave all the protective wrapping on it from factory delivery and there will be no pre-delivery washing by the vehicle prep guys. It will go straight to Andy at Project Highgloss for 2-layers of ceramic and PPF on the front and rocker-panels. I also have a set of AutoTecknic CF Stash Guards ready to install.
Is your a US car?

How much are they charging? Thinking of getting the wheels done as well, they're almost a bronze color after 600km of driving.

If it even makes you feel any better, knowing that your car is done, and waiting for transport is barely that much better :-)

I'm expecting week 42 to be between 11/16 and 11/26 for delivery based on past experience and published wait times. Only the epa thing would really change that.

Are they ahead or behind schedule? My CA tells me I am slated for build to start on 11/2 which I assume is week 44 if the week of 1/6/20020 was week 1....otherwise I am week 45.

According to Google, Nov 2 is week 45.

Sorry, my post wasn't clear. I'm a week 42 build meaning it will complete the car in week 42. Based on past experience and transit times etc I expect my delivery date to be somewhere between 11/16 and 11/26 here in the Midwest (east coast Port)

Just to clarify, is the week 40-ish number communicated on the my BMW vehicle status tracker?

As others have stated, my build has been sitting idle for several weeks.
Tracker hasn't moved since my order showed in the system week of sept. 18th.

My sales guy hinted that CCBs could be a factor in pushing it to November production.

With that said, even if it were to begin production tomorrow, would a realistic expectation at this point be for early / mid December delivery to Oregon?.. Maybe even later?..

Thanks for any info / guesses. I'm a first time BMW anything buyer, so I'm new to this.
