Yeah it might just be a crapshoot. My CA said she'd requested the Michelin's but she said they'll put "whatever" is available at time of build completion, lol.
Maybe I'll get some Chaoyang or Geostar tires. |

I didn't know to ask. I bought the car about 18 months ago from a non-BMW dealer with 3k miles. Frequent customer of theirs traded on a GT3, which he apparently does every 6 months or so. |

I have a 2021 M2C being built end of this month. I was under the assumption (without much research) that US spec M2C comes with MPSS for sure. No non-Michelins, but also no MPS4S. Am I wrong?

You are correct that you won't get PS4S as BMW has not created or qualified a version of that tire for any of the F8x cars. They basically never update a tire once a platform ships with it. |

All five 2020 M2Cs I viewed and test drove (some) from the dealers lot had MPSS on them, and the 2021 I bought also came with MPSS.

This thread is somewhat confusing for me. To my fairly accurate knowledge (hell, I can always learn), there is no tire option for NA-bound M2Cs. All come with 245 front and 265 rear Michelin PSS. The online "button" that is shown in above thread just takes you to a generic BMW USA page that details the different tires available for non-M models. There is no option to actually change the tires on your order.
The reasons for the Michelin PSS instead of PS4S have been detailed elsewhere on the forum, but suffice it to summarize the car its "stuck" with these (outside the CUP 2 option on the CS) for the remainder of production. I do believe the PS4S is a better tire, but for a DD, it doesn't really matter.

I just got a pic from the dealership and it looks like Michelin super sport (if I did have the choice to choose a tire I definitely skipped right over it).

Had a nail already and went to discount tire and they measured 8/32 nd for rears and 9/32nd for fronts, car has 450 miles, isn't that wear too aggressive for brand new tires? Have Michelin PSSs

1) Measuring error by the shop or 2) Somebody was having fun and spun the rear tires a few times I would expect 1/32" wear every 3,500 miles or so under normal driving (just a guess). I'm using an approximate of 22,000-25,000 mile life before it wears to the wear bars. |

Plenty of tread left on the fronts, very close to the wear bar on the rears. I think I’ll be able to squeeze in a couple of thousand miles before changing out the rears. |

That is exceptional. I've gotten as little as 12k miles but usually 15k-18k from PSS. Although I do throw in the occasional track day or autocross.

My rear tires are toast now at 15,000 miles. They really should have been replaced around 12,000-13,000 but I was hoping I could get a little more out of them. Getting new ones put on this weekend. They get really squirrely in the wet right now; no bueno! ...I'm not ginger with the throttle when conditions allow for it. |
