Got the build week from my CA , week 32 which means car should go to production very soon as build week is when car completes production

However did you ever talk to with BMW Genius and are they able to provide any useful information?

What information are you looking for? The genius can access the internal BMW database to look at all the information your CA can see. I called them to see my build week, identify the boat that will transport my car and the ETA at port

For instance today I called them for build week, they said it's not in the system whereas my CA was able to send me a screenshot

Asked them for any update when it will start production, no info

Basically I can see online whatever they told me

Which number you called ?

What a great spec!
Crazy at what COVID did with the whole car buying process. I've had my 2020 since April of 2019, I would imagine had we not had the virus, you guys would have been enjoying these 21s for months.

As long as you have your production # handy call 1-800-831-1117. Go through the automated stuff. After they tell you all they can "ask for customer service" they should be able to give you a build week

Hold on what i got my CA was production week, week of 32nd. Is that the same as build week ( when car finishes production)? Does production week mean it will start production on 32nd week?

Ah I see, the production week is the week your car will be completed. The actually build week is usually 1-2 weeks beforehand. This was the case when I just went through the process.

Ah guess the mechanics of it is the same. But weird, maybe I am getting confused with the term. Regardless, glad you got your answer!

The week is the completion week. Mine was a week 26 build which means production completed 7/3. If I'm counting correctly, your week 32 build should be 8/14. Your CA can send you a screenshot of all this. I think BMW has some newer employees that are working from home without the benefit of training and traditional supervision. From my experience it's hit or miss whether I reach someone who knows more about the process than I do. My CA, on the other hand, can login to the system herself to give me the straight scoop.

Thats where i got confused too, myCA sent screenshot of prod dates and the BMW genius guy said the same thing he saw in the system, agree with you on the quality of guys, 1st guy i spoke in the morning knew nothing and the 2nd guy in the evening seems far more knowledgeable, its a hit or miss

Looks like production should complete by 3rd week of August as its expected to go to production next week

Didnt it move through various stages in the production cycle, like in the paint booth etc? It should finish production in 2 weeks

It's very strange. When I call, the automated system stated I am scheduled to complete production on 7.30. But no progress is being shown.

I believe I will know more within 2 days. I was hoping to see it progress through all of the steps, I put my deposit down in February and this waiting without signs of movement is tough to take! I expected the actual build to be the one place where there would be some linear progress! Not yet!!

I just joined today and I'm here from a forum that uses some other picture posting technology so lemme figure it out but hey! Super glad to see other people are anxiously waiting as well.

For those of you that have vin#'s or Production #'s, how long did it take to get a number from the time that the dealer put the order in the auto bank and gave a copy of the build sheet?
