Poochie, are the same coding options available on the X3M?

Hope it works out and if you're not a fan, just revert the coding back. I left it, I love that I can see the light beams rising, when I hit exactly over 30mph, cool stuff. I hope one day to have a vehicle with laser lights to see it in action. |

You see, sometimes BMW knows when the vehicle hits out shores in the US, these feature would not be activated, so they design the hardware a little differently for our region. This is not always the case but has been for some models. I know the F10 and early Xenon F30 hardware was different from the ROW but I can't speak for specifically the X3. What I suggest you do is go into the X3 section and do a search under "VLD" or "Anti-Dazzle" (two separate features, BTW) and read up on if it's possible and what the coding might be. If I learn anything different, I'll share. |

NOTES FROM THE FIELD: Tried Poochie non-high beam light variable whatever it is a little harder to notice that it is actually functioning as designed. However, I did notice my lights doing some self-leveling as well as two cutouts to the light pattern. Not sure if this is new. Biggest change was seeing more light spray on my driver left side. Also, does the coding increase the intensity of the light? Maybe it is just me, but the reflections on road signs feel much brighter.
The biggest benefit is still the adaptive high-beams. On both nights, I was able to spot deer along the road much clearer! Never knew there were so many around the roads where I drove. I did notice the lights cast a wider spray, allowing me to see more left and right of the road. What was also phenomenal was when you're following a car in a pitch black road. Your high beams are still on, casting a wide viewing angle. But the lights are subdued right in front of you to not dazzle the car in front. Overall, this is hands down the best mod. Notably because it allowed me to see the "art of the possible" with new headlight technology. Also, incredible how quickly you adapt to this and driving in other cars without this capability is disparaging.

Its a very simple concept, a speed-dependent operation of the beam patten. The assumption is that the faster you are traveling, the further ahead you would need to see. So the system fawn the beam pattern out further. The US stock setting would just keep the projector beams at one level height and pace, without much movement, erring one the side of safety and keeping within US automotive lighting regulations. You'll also notice the beam response to steering inputs are much more sensitive. Your lights will be a lot more "Adaptive".. Pay attention carefully, you'll notice as soon as you hit between 25 to 30 mph, the light beam lift off 😃 I don't know, I always get a kick out of that.. Keep your fellow owners here updated, I'm sure they are all eager to try it. |

I got another one for you, do you know of the Euro emergency flash brake light and hazards? So if you ever slam on the brakes, in an emergency, the rear fog lights or brake lights flashes, then the hazards. Once again, not approved stateside but we got the cheat codes |

😃 So I got one better, this guy made a video of him coding the emergency flashing brake lights. He's a member here, 'Thick-'something, I forgot. Separate from that, to code the emergency flash hazard light, if you car decelerates from a massive speed, rapidly, like from 60mph to below 20, the hazard lights would come on to warn the drivers behind you because the assumption is that there was an emergency (highway?) stop. If you resume driving, the hazard lights automatically shuts back off or you can manually turn them off. That coding is: FEM> 3060 LceMaster> WB_GB_ENABLE>aktiv |

Will def post driving impressions, but my decision was based on my experience at the 2 day M School, you get to drive these cars way beyond what you would in the streets. The M3/M4 are great, but the M2 was just more hmm how to!put it, crazy fun? I also have two E46 M3’s -a 2003.5 SMG Dinan stage III, and a 2005 Comp manual, “CS” in Europe- |

Is the engine temp in our cars "oil temp" and not "water temp" as it takes some time to rise, is it safe to pull the car when the temp reaches 200?

Lots of discussion on this. I would read up. I don't until it reached minimum 200. I'm also still breaking in the car so that hasn't been much of a problem.
