Looks like they released about another 100, right at 568 for the US at the moment.

Sooo.... does that mean total M2 CS production numbers are 2302 instead of 2200 or does that mean that the rest of the world just got 102 less allotments?

I think they are still trying to get rid of the 2200. My estimate showed that the US would need to get at least 600 and maybe closer to 800 to hit the target 2200 units.

Do we know the build weeks for those? Has to be getting close to the end of the year at this point.

This is possible. I believe they lost one month for EU versions since during mars-april there was a lockdown. And I think Covid has somewhat affected the sales in Europa.

No idea how BMW's supply chain works, but assume they plan the production pack for the line a few weeks out. They assess the inventory of parts on hand and pull vehicles from the order list accordingly.

Depends on exact spec and if one key part is delayed (eg. CCBs) they pull forward an order they have all the bits for and keep the line at capacity.

Pulled forward 4/5 weeks is damn lucky though! Could also be folks like me who changed something and got hit with a 4 week delay (41 -> 45)

cbmmm3 whats your spec if you don't mind me asking?

Mine was week 42 and got built in time from all I can ascertain from my not-so-local dealer.

For those who are keeping a tally on numbers, Australia was reported to have been allocated 70 of these babies.

The "official" figures are however a little higher:

Vehicles with pre-release firm orders: 68
Vehicles without pre-release orders: 14
Vehicles for Press Evaluation: 2

Total: 84

I never got a build number but did receive my VIN.

Hope this helps somebody

Hopefully that's the end of it, with no more coming!

Depending on take rate tho, it's possible they could add more?

In fact Davil's and mine were both built in the same week (starting on the same day apparently).

Mine is MB/CUP2/CCB/6MT thinking Akropovic tail when it arrives

already ordered specialised number plate SONIC (it's blue, and it's fast)

I'm hoping, as are others, that it's a hard stop there and the US doesn't become the catch all for remaining production.

Dear BMW,
Please throw the remaining chassis and applicable surplus of components at that last ditch '21 "Special Content Package" M2 Competition.
As an appreciation gift for the early adopters, please send us any leftover wheels for winter duty and sport cup 2s for further enjoyment at the track.
Throw whatever's left at the m parts catalogue..

Thanks, yer the best!

I hope for the sake of the people that paid mark up that doesn't happen either, but this isn't a numbered limited edition 1/500, so its completely feasible.

Time will tell.

I did it boys, I'm back with an allocation. I scooped up one of the recent ones released for a week 51 build which is perfect. Coming into California port in Februaryish which was one of my concerns with my earlier build coming into NJ during the peak winter season. It still will be winter, but hoping for better weather from CA-CO than NJ-CO in December.

I have never bounced back and forth on a purchase so much, but I can't shake looking this car up every freaking day which means I want it, right?!

FOMO is HUGE on this car.
